they're the same issues as africa or sub sahara africa.nk that it is our duty as leaders in this world to set an example and be sure that we are driven just by shareholders, but that we are driven by the needs of consumers, and if we cater to them very well, business will perform. francine: you must be disappointed that not more ceos think like you? paul: you cannot sit here and get frustrated by the attitudes of others or the speed with which things move. you should just continue to focus on bringing the right people together and moving these barriers. sometimes, you think why can we move faster? why aren't more people doing this? who am i to judge? the better thing to show is that we can have a business model where we do well, but also do good for the shareholders. the more we do that, the more we see other people enroll. one of the reasons that you see short tenure of ceos, which is now 4.5 years for the fortune companies, is really because a lot of the ceos are not equipped for the challenges of today's world. francine: which are what?

joining us from the capitol of nigeria, political risk analyst specializing in sub sahara africa.ere anything that links these countries other than the fact that are proximate neighbors in a vast continent? >> not really. i think this is a the big mistake that a lot of the leaders in africa have been making. they think you can look at the case in rwanda and that signals that they can stay in power. but african youth are kind of getting -- clamoring more for accountability. they have seen what has happened in places like burkina faso, and i don't see how this is going to be a sustainable trend so to speak. i think we're coming from the beginning of the end of the long-serving african leaders. >> while the west looks down on people who want more and more years in office, because that just doesn't happen in many countries in the west, actually this gives some african countries a stability that they otherwise wouldn't have had. >> are there those people who would be quite happy to see their leaders carry on, because it gives them stability that might not happen if they voted in anyone

. >> the greatest producer of desert dust is the sahara in north africa. t's 26 times the size of germany and is the largest hot desert in the world. does the sahara dust have an impact on the global climate? storms carry the dust particles up to seven kilometers high. the air currents there then pull them west and over the atlantic. the light colored sand reflects and scatters sunlight. that means that only part of the sun's radiation manages to reach the ground. the result is less heat stored in forests, lakes, rivers, and oceans and less returned to the atmosphere. the particles also have an effect on rainfall. researchers have determined that the amount of water in clouds decreases as the amount of dust in the air increases. most of the particles from the sahara eventually descend over the atlantic. at the equator the drizzle of dust, with its iron-, phosphorus- and nitrogen-containing minerals, fertilizes the surface of the ocean. these minerals promote the growth of tiny marine plants. they in turn increases the ocean's ability to absorb and neutraliz
