all right, sal. 7:32. let's see. san mateo bridge?that, 24. >> 80. >> 80. >> okay. >> all of them are not -- i wouldn't say they're the most -- the best examples of good commutes right now. let's start with the east bay, steve. westbound 24 is slow because of an accident eastbound that is clearly visible from the other side of the freeway. you can see it here from walnut creek to orinda. it is going to be slow. and, again, the accident is eastbound. might as well be westbound because a lot of people are stuck in traffic getting into oakland. this had been a decent commute. not anymore. you can see 80 westbound. some people might be taking that. it is almost an hour driving in. it is almost like a rainy day because some of the roads are wet there. have been crashes here and there. and it hasn't been a great commute. when we start approaching one- hour commutes between the carquinez bridge and the macarthur maze, imagine how long it would take you to drive from vallejo to san francisco. it would take you 55 minutes between these two spo

let's bring steve in. >> thank you, sal. good morning, everyone. we do have a big fog bank in mont travis at this time of year. there's no way on this green earth we're going to warm-up very much. it's just impossible. because low clouds are already in place and they've made a good push for some already well inland. yesterday, we got south wind. that kind of jude things up a little bit. it does look more west, southwest today. low clouds in place. if you're stuck in that fog, it's going to be a cold day. the low yesterday dropped phoenix and much of the desert in the mid-70s around unseasonably cool air. ejecting out and guess who's busy this morning. morning meteorologist in oklahoma city and tulsa and kansas city and st. louis, that's where the line of severe weather is could pick up. that's a vigorous low that's coming out of the southwest. for a skit 40s and 50s. i doubt these change too much because pretty soon i would think most locations will stay cloudy already. 50 by san ramon. 52. and 51 martinez and el sobrante. it's pretty close there.

let's go to sal castendo for the very latest on interstate 880 and what it is like out there now. >> the traffic is light. this has been closed overnight. the commute this morning usually goes the other way. i will put it on the map because this is northbound 880 near the stevenson area. southbound traffic is getting by. northbound traffic, that is not typically the commute direction but if you are driving north, you could use 680 and use mission boulevard and get back on the freeway to fremont city streets. right now, we don't know exactly when it will be open. this has been going on for a while. they are still collecting evidence. when something like this happens, they have to take every car away in what is called an evidence tow truck. they have to preserve the evidence, that is why it takes so long. they have to take measurements. three people have been killed and five are injured by this collision. chp is still out there. we will let you know when it reopens. southbound lanes are still open. >>> the commute on the altamont pass seems to be okay with a little bit of slowing on 58

how does it look now, sal? >> every time that i say well, tomorrow will likely be better, i'm sorely disappointed. today we have that major accident in san francisco, northbound 280 coming up to daly city is where the backup begins. but the accident is northbound 280 between ocean geneva and the san jose on-ramp. it is a motorcycle accident blocking the two left lanes and traffic is backed up into daly city. if you are a local here, you know your way around, you know today is not the day to get on 280. perhaps you go up to mission and you get to san francisco that way. i realize that city streets are not optimal. but you will be in a long delay because of this. if you're trying to get to san francisco, things are improving a little bit. there was a stalled vehicle on the upper deck for a little while. they cleared it and traffic is recovering now. in fact i'm pretty surprised by how well it has recovered considering. but there will be a slightly longer delay at the bay bridge toll plaza. 880 in front of oracle
