sal castaneda has the story. >> reporter: the team in the blue, that's the freshman football team. they are without at least six of their players tonight after they have been suspended for a hazing incident that allegedly took place in the locker room. seven players on the freshman team are being investigated for a hazing incident involving one of their teammates last wednesday before practice. the incident occurred in the locker room which at the time was not being supervised by an adult. school officials say surveillance video and the recording by one of the students doing the hazing allowed them to see exactly what happened. >> they taped his legs together, a couple of kids held him down. there were some punches thrown and there were a group of students that were spectators but were egging on the whole thing. >> reporter: the hazing victim's student quickly called school administrators and filed a report with police. >> upset not only about the event but after the event there are students who started texting her son. you know saying be a good guy. don't get us all in trouble, do

sal castaneda live where there are a number of concerns tonight. >> reporter: i want to show you this brand new playground equipment. you might imagine how tempting for children it is for children to have this new equipment here. they want to play on it but now the school district says not so fast. today at rancho elementary school the brand new playground equipment was not available much to the disaappointment of children. the unified school district officials say six children have been injured, a higher number than normal. some have suffered broken arms after using the new equipment unveiled for the new school year. nevado school superintendent says the incidents concerned her and she ordered the equipment roped off until an investigation is completed. >> until we can get the manufacturing out here and we can have a meeting, i thought it was better close down the equipment for now. >> reporter: districts officials say the equipment is state of the art and complying with all safety standards. they say part of the solution will be to closely supervise children who use the equipment. b
