let's go right out to sal castanedo who is following this collision involving a chp motorcycle. what do you know? >> we know that the officer was injured a little bit. not major but we did see the collision block all of the lay. the traffic is backed up out -- up out to -- northbound on 8 8 -- on 880. a lot of them came because of the chp officer being involved. southbound traffic was also affected. they've cleared most of the names. this is northbound 80 at dakoto road. all lanes are open. you can see from newschopper2, it's becausing -- causing a big backup. look at that backup on 880. it just goes to show you that one accident that was serious is backed up for miles. the bay bridge, that's light. if and if you are driving on the 0 northbound in oakland -- 8 0 northbound in oakland -- 880 northbound in oakland. >>> most of us in the mid 40s to 50s. noontime numbers will be sitting in the mid- to upper 50s and then u7er -- upper 50s, low 60s. the winds will die down but we won't won't lose them altogether. upper 50s expected for the east bay. 61 for oakland. plan the extended f

sal castanedo, off today. but tara, watching everything for us.ey, tara. >> reporter: good morning, guys. that's right there's a lot of nothing out there in the north bay. it's been there all morning. you want to be aware of it as you drive through marin. this is 880 near the oakland coliseum. not a lot of folks on the roadway. it's so foggy you can't even see the tail lights of those cars making their way in. we had an accident in the eastbound direction. all of your roadways are looking clear in every direction. 7:23. here's rosemary. >>> good morning to you. that's the noticeable ching going on. more moisture in the air. take a look at the fog. it is rolling in, as tara mentioned, around the bay area. we do have a little bit of dense fog reports over the north bay which means you could encounter visibility down to a quarter mile in some cases and with this moisture a little bit of patchy frost. by 10:00 we begin to thaw out and at noontime, most of us sitting the in -- sitting in the 50s. mid- to upper 50s for most of us. most of us not going t

but we can go to sal castanedo right now for an update on the situation on 880. is there still a backup? >> the backup is dissipating. but the problems were very serious. i want to mention traffic has recovered here and what they are doing here on 880 -- i might be able to move a map to it. they are fixing the high street bridge. they are doing a retrofit project between oakland and hayward -- a $180 million project. i believe we might have kraig -- yes, we do. hello, kraig. how are you? >> reporter: hey, good morning, sal. if you look behind me, you can see what you were just talking about, the high street bridge. there's a problem earlier. it appears that traffic is moving through here rather smoothly at this time. that's kind of odd because typically there is a residual effect that lasts all morning. especially if you take 880, you know that. the roads did not get opened up in time for the commute. there was this huge backup. here's what it looked like from newschopper2. just about 25 to 30 minutes ago, they finally opened the highway in the northbound directi
