sal castanedo is live at the scene with the latest. sal? >> reporter: mike, 10th street at willow is still blocked off here, just before 9:00 a.m. this morning someone came by and started shooting. witnesses say someone in a passing vehicle fired several shots and hit a man standing near the entrance to the sharif market at the corner of 10th and willis streets. soon several officers arrived 0 on the scene. immediately started to interview witnesses and sealing off the air. medics rushed the victim off in the ambulance and took him away. >> our victim was on the street when the shooting occurred. a key to our followup investigation, we had a lot of witnesses who were out. this is a very -- this a very- populated area where we have a -- vehicle traffic and we had a lot of witnesses out. >> reporter: police say the shooting victim, a man in his early 20s was taken to the hospital where he died. i arrived at the shooting shortly after it happened. people were already aware of where the victim was. they told me his name. we won't share that wit

ktvu's sal castanedo joins us live with what we're learning now about the case. good afternoon, sal. >> reporter: tori, good afternoon. many remember judy solomon as the dog nanny as -- in the neighborhood. she was killed while driving in east oakland next to her -- or close to her home. i want to show you video of the crime scene last summer. the 66-year-old professional dog walker was shot and killed as she drove her subaru up the hill next to a cemetery on fairfax last july. after she was shot, her car rolled backward down the hill, stopped, ran into a parked car. she was pronounced dead at the scene. today oakland police are set to announce the arrest of two men in the case and some of the neighborhood has been asking why. apparently, the police say this all stems from a robbery and an argument that she got into with these men. at the crime scene, police found beer bottles in the area and it's unclear if that led them to the suspect. some neighbors i spoke with at the time, say young people partying in their cars is a nuisance in the area and wandered if it co
