i represent charles salter associations. i am an acoustical engineer, a licensed professional engineer in the state of california. we were asked to conduct a noise study on the property to evaluate the expected noise levels the property would have in relation to the san francisco noise ordinance. we did so by measuring ambient noise levels around the site in front and back and comparing that to the expected noise from the site, including noise within the auditorium, which was determined based on mockup testing inside with rep music -- representative music, and for noise in the outside dining areas based on our experience with many other projects and what typical noise is produced by face-to-face conversation in a dining setting. our finding was that with some measures we have listed in our report, we find the expected noise from preservation hall and the restaurant and outdoor dining area is expected to meet the ise limits of the san francisco nor's ordinance section 2909 -- noise ordinance, section 29 and nine of the police

salter, to make sure that there are no problems related to it but there is no increase in the sound output or in the activity. there was a request with the conditional use authorization for us to have live comedy shows earlier in the evening. which was approved. but that would be the only functional change that the comet club would really experience going back to probably the early 197s to. and it certainly won't become more of a problem, they're not changing their format or reaching out to a different community. as i said, there is no history of police problems at this location. there have been very few complaints over the many years that mr. caponi has owned the place and he always responds to people directly. he's well liked in the community. officer gallagher, the permit officer in northern station, said that he is personally ok with 2:00 a.m. but that it is their policy to recommend 1:30 on all of these applications. so i hope that you will take that into consideration and allow comet club to continue operating as it always has. this is a really good neighborhood, little venue, it doe

commission along with other city agencies, and even -- we had a sound engineer, we had someone from salters and associates there. and it's really a great group. it's a task force that's really doing a lot of good. and i think in the future, we'll be able to really change the sound ordinance here in the city which has some problems. and i think it's a real positive step. i'll be meeting with the city controller's office about our citation process in december. we'll be dr. kind of discussing more of the back end of that process. we'll be meeting -- it will be myself, the controller's office and then a few other agencies that are also now have the ability to issue the demitch citations -- administrative citations. so after that meeting i'll be able to give more information. i'll be testifying at a planning department hearing on trigger and also in december. so once that hearing and the results of that hearing happen, i will be able to give this commission kind of those results which will be -- should be interesting. finally, i would just -- i'll read this verbatim. it's important to note that
