. >> i'm sam brock. investigators are trying to figure out if a series of car fires are connected. >> rob redell joins us near the scene of the latest fire. we're talking about three fires very close together and not too far from where folks were probably sleeping. >> yes. fortunately nobody was hurt. i want you to think about this. just seven days ago, last monday night into tuesday morning we had three car fires, one on the 1500 block of south baskium and we are again talking about three car fires. you can see the debris from where the car was parked. you can't see it but there's a strong smell of gasoline out here and you can also see the heat from this fire melted some of the window panels on the side of the riverwalk apartments. you're talking about people who were asleep inside, nobody was hurt, the damage was minimal. all three of last night's fires happened within roughly one mile of each other. you had the one here at 1510, another at 1550 south baskum and the first one on the 2100 block of sout

i'm sam brock and that's this edition of reality check. >>> let's check the forecast.have one of the biggest storms in years coming this way. with the timeline, here's rob. >> we got a break between all the rain last week but even with the three to four days of relatively calm before the next incoming storm, the ground still saturated outside. we have 50s and 60s out there and the saturated soil helping to form the radiational fog. we'll see more of that tomorrow morning. flow pushing some mid-level moisture our way. once the moisture rises over the marin head lands and the coastal top, you'll see more showers overnight. then rain will certainly pick up as we get closer to thursday. so for tomorrow morning, we'll see areas of fog and then as we go through the day, no rain on the radar here. we're looking at temperatures that will be mild despite the cloud cover with that southerly flow. we should still manage the numbers climbing into the upper 60s in san jose. close to 70 today. close to that range for tomorrow. san francisco seeing highs in the mid-60s. patchy dense

i'm sam brock. >> and i'm laura garcia-cannon. americans are waking up this morning with a president ready to do business with cuba for the first time in 50 years. but not everyone is happy about it. tracie potts is live on capitol hill this morning with more on what comes next. >> reporter: hey, laura. step one, the state department has to take another look at the list of countries that we consider terrorist countries and take cuba off that list. and then congress has got to deal with the trade embargo. yes, the president wants to open up our doors to cuba and vice versus versa. it will make it easier to open up banking to shift money between the two countries. but trade and the trade embargo, that's got to be dealt with when congress comes back. we're already hearing rumblings on capitol hill that conservatives are not happy about it. some have been public about it already. president obama and raul castro sealed the deal in a 45-minute conversation after a year and a half of secret negotiations involving the pope and a prisoner
