"you just need to react." as todd peterson stared down a woman hanging upside down from a second floor window. aggressively trying to escape the flames of an apartment fire tuesday. "it happened very quickly," said todd peterson. "very quickly." peterson, a deputy with the woodbury county sheriff's office, was first on site at the prairie apartments in sloan, iowa. "i'm getting a lot of concealed carry class questions," said paul barrrett, owner of shooter's paradise. barrett says he's answering three to four times more calls a day about the topic. getting one," said paul barrett. some might suggest the recent san bernadino shootings is the reason for the increase. but, barrett isn't sure about that. ktiv's sam curtiss brings us the latest developments that took place yesterday in woodbury county district court. << as a judge read her rights, heaven zevenbergen sat in court continuously answering yes as she plead guilty to second degree theft. zevenbergen, along with who police say was her accomplice, angelica perez, did the same on wednesday. seemed as an inside job from the start. august 15th, perez, disguised as a man, said she had a weapon and demanded cash from the security national bank inside the hy- vee on hamilton boulevard in sioux city. on the other side of the counter, the teller out of sight, perez's friend, zevenbergen, a 2014 class valedictorian at elk-point jefferson high school in south dakota. zenvenbergen later told police she helped stage the robbery with perez. perez graduated from sioux city's east high school in 2015 and even participated in choir. surveillance video caught her casually walking away from the store with thousands of dollars that day. sioux city police zeroed in on both and arrested them a few days later. both zevenbergen and perez could face up to

in sloan, iowa, sam curtiss, ktiv news four. the city of norfolk has honored a local firefighter with an employee excellence award for the work she has dodo the past year. bobbi risor, a firefighter and paramedic was nominated by the fire chief. risor says the rest of her crew is deserving of recognition and brings the best out of her. something that her chief says makes her a great person to nominate. "like i said, i don't feel like i deserve it, all these guys have part time jobs or some almost qualify as full time jobs. plus they all help each other, they help me much," said risor about the firefighters she works with daily. "so, for me, to help out another one of us that works here it is not a big deal, in my mind. that is what you do when you work here." the fire chief says risor was nominated partly because of her taking on the duties of a coworker who suffered health issues during the year. risor said she is humbled by the award, and is thankful for the people she works alongside everyday. three other people were also hon

"i love to see the smile on peoples face," said donald baumgardner. it's hard to miss him outside this grocery store...five days a week...eight and half hours a day. "they had a deal down there that said sign up to ring the bell so baumgardner. few can probably rival hisenthusiasm. "i love to talk to people, i love to ring the bell and make the noise and no one yells at me for making noise," said donald baumgardner. and the salvation army of siouxland struggles to find more people like him. "during the week we struggle to get volunteers," said allison liska. the people you see ringing those bells are volunteers. the salvation army estimates they're around 100 volunteers short. ringing at 15 different locations. but more like 14 because don has a strong lock on his spot except for tuesdays.
