johnson... elias: weather is always first on in with central iowa's most accurate forecast... meteorologist sam schreier. sam: (adlib toss) sam weather adlib: we are expecting a wide range of weather today, all of which have a chance to impact parts of your daily commute. things will start mainly dry across the state through the morning hours but patchy freezing fog and drizzle is possible especially across central and northern iowa. this afternoon a cold front will be dropping through the state bringing the winds out of the northwest and sweeping down colder air. snow will follow the cold front in the afternoon through the evening. most of the snow accumulation will occur in northern iowa especially around the highway 20 corridor with about 1 to 3 inches expected. blowing snow and drifting will be a possibility, and things could be especially slick if we get isolated patches of ice from fog/drizzle. the metro might see a bit of snow but we will likely see less than an inch. the snow will end state- wide tonight with the winds remaining very strong out of the northwest and lows falling into the

johnson... elias: weather is always first on good morning iowa... in with central iowa's most accurate forecast... meteorologist sam schreier. sam: (adlib toss) sam weather adlib: the weather is only going to keep getting better and better as we head into the weekend, starting with be a bit overcast with partly sunny skies and a high in the mid 30s. the winds will be strong out of the southwest around 10 to 20 mph, but that will only help move our highs into the 30s. tonight we're going to see more clearing skies with the overnight lows staying in the upper 20s. thursday will be breezy with highs again landing in the upper 30s. friday should be absolutely beautiful as the highs climb into the mid to upper 40s, and saturday looks just about as nice! there may be a brief wintry mix on sunday with highs falling back into the lower 40s. a large winter storm system still has it's eye on us for early next week. it's too early to have reliable snow amounts but if this system doesn't change course we're likely looking at a couple days of rough driving conditions. we'll continue to follow it closely through the weekend and
