i have chp officer sam morgan to tell us how it's looking out there. we've been hearing about ice possible snow water. sounds like a disaster. how's it going? >> so far it's going well. we don't have any unusual delays or spinouts or traffic closures in the area. we are reminding motorists we have the winter storm warning so we want them to adjust their driving behavior accordingly. that means slowing down, distance. be patient because sometimes there's standing water on the roadway so keep a heads up on that. relax. get to your destination. drive to arrive without any unusual incidents. sounds like we should just stay home. we're not used to driving on the ice. it might not happen but if icy patches form do you have advice how to handle that. >> the best thing to do is look for discoloration on the highway surface. you can pick up on black ice on the roadway. there's a discoloration between the roadway surface and the ice on it. the last thing you wanna do is hit the brakes very hard. what you want to do is ease off the accelerator, let the vehicle sl
