in downtown san rafael. that could have been a huge mess for the morning commute. in fact it was a big mess yesterday during the evening commute. some cars were stuck in traffic for about 2 hours we heard reports from our radio partners kcbs that people were stuck in such hong delays they were running out of gas -- such long delays that they were running out of gas and were getting calls on the bridge. the good news, as of about 1:00 this morning all the major freeways throughout the area are re-opened. what is shut down is that area right there surrounding the hotel where police are still on scene. so francisco boulevard is still closed between bellam and main. but again that shouldn't be a huge tie-up. just avoid that area. in the meantime if you are commuting 101 at 580, both directions of 101 so far, so good. towards the golden gate bridge light across the span. they should have just done the lane change a short while ago. elsewhere checking the south bay, looking good this morning through downtown san j
