[applause] >> when i open up the paper every day i'm just amazed at how many different environmental issues keep popping up. when i think about the planet i want to leave for my children and other generation, i think of what contribution i can make on a personal level to the environment. ♪ clean power sf is san francisco's key way of fighting climate change by renewable energy and offering it to san francisco customers. i'm from the san francisco public utilities commission. the program came about with state wide legislation in 2002 to enable people to take more control over supplies. i first heard of the program when the organization was advocating to launch clean power sf. what i'm most excited about, it's going to bring 100% renewable energy to my home and reinvest into renewable energy infrastructure and jobs. i had gone to a lot of street fairs and heard from the staff at the san francisco public utilities commissi

this is the heart of san francisco. it has become unfortunately a glimpse into the homeless and behavioral health issues that we have here in san francisco. it is not safe. it is not acceptable anymore. so today i'm proud that we are announcing a partnership between our san francisco police department and part that is going to increase staffing here at civic center bart station. san francisco police department, we are going to be increasing foot patrols by over 300 hours per week. bart is also going to be increasing their staffing levels as well. we need to make a difference for the commuters that use bart. we need to make a difference for san francisco residents and we need to make a difference for visitors who come to our beloved city of san francisco. let's also make sure to know that this is not a police matter alone. i'm proud to be joined by barbara garcia who runs our department of public health. this is also a public health issue and an issue that we are going to be dealing with through our healthy streets opera

this is in downtown san leandro.king for two persons of interest connected to this deadly stabbing. right now, what police are telling us is that this happened shortly after 11 p.m. last night. they say four people are involved, two victims and two other individuals they are still looking for. the victims were stabbed feet from businesses so when this happened, a witness ran into the safeway here and alerted a security guard, who ran out, got his first aid kit and helped one of the victims, tried to save the victim. police have not released the identities of the victims. one died and the other was sent to the hospital in critical condition. this area has a lot of surveillance cameras around so police are reviewing that at this time and they are talking to witnesses who were around at the time. there's a lot of crime evidence here. police have removed several scbags in the last enhour. right now, the fire department just got on scene. they are going to wash down the parking because there's a lot t loof blood. now, mom
