i'm on the equity council at san francisco general. there are some people in management who are trying to do things. but it's not fast enough. and people are suffering. and so let me give you one example, from an asian employee who wrote his story that i just gave you. it says, a year ago on multiple occasions in front of other asian staff who speak chinese, the supervisor of our department used a racially derogatory term, written in chinese, pronounced hong chang, multiple times to refer to a comment on one of the unit staff who spoke ethiopian as well as one other dark skinned hospital staff, janitor/housekeeper. we either reminded him or cautioned him that it's not appropriate for him to use this offensive disgusting term of the word. and the word in chinese was nigger, and good for nothing. so, these are the kinds of things that people are dealing with. this is the insidious thing that people just don't get. and you know, i just got to say mickey, you have failed us. you have -- severely failed us. because this should not be. we sh

"san jose union" says workers plan to vote today. protesters also plan to picket. marriott workers in hawaii have already authorized a strike, although no date is set. >>> chp just changed the category for our two crashes to traffic alerts for both of them. one huge impact for the bay bridge right now as it's 5:37, the commute really building up. you see all the traffic jamming up as you approach san francisco westbound. your commute direction out of oakland, this crash blocks the two left lanes for 80 southbound 101 around octavia. it looks like when they join off of lombard coming off of the golden gate bridge it looks like they're joining in just past that crash, and i'm being optimistic about that, but that is a big backup forming west in toward san francisco and that has likely caused the metering lights to be slowed down a bit. that's going to make more congestion for the maze and coming off the berkeley curve as well. that's rippling from san francisco back over toward the oa

i was born in san diego and adopted out to san francisco when i was about 17 years old. i bounced around a little bit here in high school, but i've always been here in the bay. we are an inclusive preschool, which means that we cater to emp. we don't turn anyone away. we take every child regardless of race, creed, religious or ability. the most common thing i hear in my adult life is oh, you don't seem like you have autism. you seem so normal. yeah. that's 26 years of really, really, really hard work and i think thises that i still do. i was one of the first open adoptions for an lgbt couple. they split up when i was about four. one of them is partnered, and one of them is not, and then my biological mother, who is also a lesbian. very queer family. growing up in the 90's with a queer family was odd, i had the bubble to protect me, and here, i felt safe. i was bullied relatively infrequently. but i never really felt isolated or alone. i have known for virtually my entire life i was not suspended, but kindly asked to not ever bring it up again in first grade, my desire to
