i was born in san diego and t ou to san francisco when i was about 17 years old.we are an inclusive preschool, which mea tt we cater to emp. we don't turn anyone ake every of race, creed, religious or n autism. life is oh, you don't you seem so normal. yeah. that's 26 yea+) really, really, really hard work and i think thises that i still i was one of the first open adoptions for an lgbtcouple. they split up when i was about four. on t one of them is not, and then m avery queer family. growing up in the 'ith a queer family was odd, i had the bubble to protect me, and!p he, i felt safe. i was bullied r infrequently. but i nevery felt isolated or alone. i have known for vly entire life i was not suspended, but kindly asked to not ever bring it up again in firsgrade, my desire to have a sex change. the school that i went to really hadyétd no idea how to handle one. one of my parents is a little bit gd nonconforming, so they know what it's about,ut my parents wanted my life to be safe. when i have all neurological issues to manage, that was just one more to add to it.

that's a big issue in oakland, san francisco, san jose, across the state. you're saying you've proposed a lot of tiny homes to be built, but in the interim, you're talking about some kind of some campground style housing of tents. tell me about it. and more importantly, where would those campgrounds be? yeah great question. so we need all of the above approach. we have this crisis of thousands of people living in totally unmanaged encampments with trash, fires, violence and crime. we've got to get people into managed sites with basic security, with supportive services. i was just down in san diego with mayor todd gloria. he personally gave me a tour of the safe sleeping sites. they have stood up the site. we toured has 400 tents in neat rows. porta potties, hand-washing stations, on site security, case management, health care workers coming on site. it's not the end goal, but it is a step forward. it offers more dignity and support for those living on our streets, and it significantly reduces the impacts of unsheltered homelessness on the broader community.

we're outside coyote creek elementary here in san ramon, one of the many schools here in the san ramon valley unified school district. our colleague kris sanchez spoke to that new superintendent, c.j. cammack, who just took over as superintendent of this school district. he comes here from fremont unified, where he held the same position. superintendent karma says san ramon valley will be solvent this school year, but will face some very difficult financial challenges next school year. in 20 2526, when the district will have to make up $16.5 million in reductions through reductions, reductions that he and his staff will spend this year trying to identify. we are definitely seeing some financial challenges based on how the state had miscalculated or mis projected their total revenue for the year last year, and districts across the state, including san ramon valley unified school district, are dealing with that burden of having to address the shortfall in revenue that's coming forward from the state. and so we will have many challenges in front of us to identify how we can reduce our exp
