we come to you live from our truck, we're driving through san anselmo right now. i'm going to turn the camera around, you can see for the moment it's dry right now but that's been the story today herering it's been on and off rain. we had a dry pocket this morning, the biggest downpour came around 1:30. as always, any time there's a storm here in the north bay there's a lot of concern about the creek in san anselmo. you can see it's moving pretty well. 11 feet is the danger zone. 13 feet is when it can overflow. right now it's around five feet. still a long way to go. the mayors said they are prepared. we folk to him and pg&e today. >> we're in the concerned that it's going to overflow its banks but i do know town staff has been active and activated, they've been checking our storm drains. they've been checking for fallen debris. and we've been in close contact with the county. flood gates stand at the ready. stand -- sandbags are ready for the populace. liz: the peak of the outage was around 1:30. around 1,000 customers lost power. we saw those outages right afte

just adding to these numbers over 3 and a half inches in campfield over 2 and a half inches in san anselmo santa rosa almost 2 inches of rain over an inch in napa and then get san francisco, really not that much at just under half an inch of rain and oakland just over a 10th. so yeah, a long way to go here. but these atmospheric river events. it all depends on where that atmospheric river sets itself up right now. looks like is beginning to focus a little further south. but there is so much cold air on the backside of this. this is going to become a swinging through 2. so we've got a long way to go with this storm system. look at that rain and moisture. now that's focusing a little further south and the san mateo county and the santa cruz mountains. we're watching that very closely. i think this is where it's going to start to get hung up right now tonight is right in through santa cruz county, parts of the monterey bay and it will continue to track into parts of the east bay that are going to see your heaviest amounts of rain. we're seeing some of those moderate amounts coming down now, b

the nearby roads and the pedestrian bridge that leads from this house residents and businesses in san anselmo. we're keeping a very close eye on the creek that runs right through the downtown area. real time water gauges show the creek level tripled from sunday to monday, and some business owners set up sandbags and floodgates just as a precaution. they wanted to be prepared if the creek were to crest like it did back in october. all we need the rain. we need the rain, so i'm happy to see it rain. i just would prefer it to rain and not flood. so if we can keep that trend going, we're happy to have some rain. and north of marin county, up in sonoma county. one homeowner in forestville is just getting started on a massive cleanup job. she was outside her house when a massive tree came down and split her house into two. keep his kitty box on the back porch down underneath. and fortunately the beans when the tree fell, the beans held it. and i guess it fell onto the oak tree in the oak tree fell under my car. there is concern in the neighborhood that more trees with shallow roots will come down d

marin county fire department reduced the threat of wildfires in the hills above fare facts and san anselmo. the grants from cal fire were approved by the marin county board of supervisors today. fuel reduction work is scheduled through spring of 2025 in the hills above fairfax in and around camp tomorrow, rancho and in the bald hill preserve. that work is expected to begin july 1st of next year. already taken a look at the upcoming forecasts . we talked about a little bit of rain that we had late last night and early this morning. in some places, it was really like 510th of an inch barely 1/10 of an inch far north. the chance of showers comes up again tomorrow night about the same, so it's a non event, except it sets us up for this rain develops on sunday and monday event that thing is going to go off that's going to be straight up atmospheric river. not as potent or not forecasting as potent as the last one but with potential for a half foot of rain in the coastal hills over the course of the next week, i think easily, i think in the mountains, i think, 345 ft of snow not out of the quest
