blizzard conditions made a highway impassable in the san bernardino mountains around the los angelesrea. firefighters worked for hours overnight to rescue people and take them to nearby shelters. this is all part of a big storm system in the southwestern part of the country. even giving some snow to las now. a lot of wet weather spinning around arizona parts of southern nevada and also southern california. as we zoom in, you can see, just around phoenix, rain just to the north around flagstaff snow even around the las vegas area. a lot of rain and snow mix here. this is not looking like a very pretty start to 2015 for those people in las vegas. a very cold night for them. and the cold air tonights to funnel down salt lake city coming in at 18, phoenix, arizona, 43. las vegas 41 degrees. and later tonight, las vegas will be right around the freezing mark. so this is one area of the country we'll keep watching very cold and seasonably cold weather. locally we have cold weather, too, to start 2015. glenn will have the details coming up. >>> "the interview" may be seen in north korea aft
