it is scanning on top of san bruno mountain. this will bring us the highest resolution pictures. so let's talk about the time line. who will see and it when? we'll see it south of golden gate bridge. so this is more over the central coast and more along the south bay as well. so if i push forward that time line, we're seeing the storm coming in even weaker than we had forecasted. it is moving out early sunday morning. anything south of the golden gate bridge might not see any rain. right now, rain through the models. taking us through sunday. we're seeing it taper off but the rain totals in the next 24 hours, look how tiny it is. less than a tenth of an ink in san jose. when you consider that the storm is expected to be more focused south of the golden gate bridge. you look at the numbers and you know it won't be a washed out saturday or sunday. so if you have plans to be outside, be mindful that we'll see some scattered showers but it won't be heavy down pours. we'll see the rain start to develop. it looks like it will move in a lot sooner. and sunday is daylight savings time. s

our storm ranger on top of san bruno mountain, if you can tell, judging by the radar, it's not pickings because the storm system now officially moved off inland, all off to the east and the south and all that stuff is left behind and now we have nice clear skies. and because we are seeing clearer skies, the temperatures are going to remain in the 40s for san jose, so, overnight lows if you look at 1:00, 45 degrees, as you wake up tomorrow morning we have the chance of seeing that early morning patchy fog. so, keep that in mind. san francisco, also seeing nice clear skies right now. temperatures will remain in the 40s overnight. so the colder spots will be in the north bay and further in to the interior valleys. so, let's talk about tomorrow's micro climate highs. your fog is going to play a roel in there, expect patchy fog on the coast and daytime highs will be cool. we are talking mid to upper 50s and san francisco a high of 56 and santa rosa, 59. and check out palo alto and san jose, in the 50s. lake tahoe, 13 degrees up there, it's good that it is cold, it will keep the fresh snow s

right now storm ranger is still sitting on top of san bruno mountain, but we are not tracking any rain. our long range outlook shows a system expected to bring big changes in the middle of the week. >>> crews remain on the scene this morning of a building that turned into a towering inferno in the heart of north beach last night. the fire is now contained, but the investigation begins this morning. the fire at union street and columbus avenue in san francisco broke out just after 7:30 last night. as you can see bright red flames lit up the sky. the fire could be seen by people from miles away. the city's north beach neighborhood is one of the busiest for fewer wrists and locals, especially on a saturday night. there are dozens of restaurants and bars and on top of that it was st. patrick's day, a dramatic fire fight went on for several hours. people who saw the entire thing unfold say it was surreal. >> you can feel the heat. people were here standing across the street. you can feel the heat on your face. >> what did you think? >> it was really bad. i mean, lucky the firefighters were

. >>> a wild ride in a stolen car in san bruno has teens facing felony charges. video uploaded to snapchat shows the aftermath of the short chase. police say an officer on the lookout for told lend cars -- stolen cars watched the four teens run out of the mall, jump in the car and take off. they crashed into several other cars, and stopped at a gas station parking lot. officers quickly arrested the three passengers, and tracked down the driver a couple hours later. he is a 17-year-old from san francisco, and is now charged with multiple hit-and-run and resisting arrest. >>> a bay area lawmaker is pushing a bill that would put more housing next to transit stations. it would allow a building 8 stories high to go up next to single family homes in areas that are close to public transit. the goal is twofold, to make for room for housing and get cars off the roads. state senator introduced the bill, and spoke to us by skype. >> it's not sustainable to have only single family homes, only low density zones around transit. >> the vote could add up to about 3 million homes

we are atop the san bruno mountains giving detailed information about this storm as it unfolds. we want to show a live look at san francisco where it rained off and on most of the day. >> let's start with chief meteorologist jeff ranieri. where is the storm heading? >> some of the heaviest rainfall throughout the bay area. strong, isolated thunderstorms in some cases moving super fast. you go through a period of drying, and all of a sudden that heavy rainfall arrives. and then it's moving on to the next location. so i want to take you to the top areas of concerns right now. the number one zone here is across the peninsula, over burlingame, between burlingame and san mateo. rainfall rates of over 1 inch per hour, so some very heavy downpours. a closer look shows some of that heaviest rainfall right over rollins road, also ansah boulevard. we zoom out wider and it's tracking north and east. likely holding up into ala meeta as we continue through 6:41 tonight. now a second area we're tracking that down here across the south bay. you can see storm rangers putting a lot more detail in
