so they moved down to san diego. it was this college break over to general aviation airport was never owned by the us military, so it's a lot of civilians coming in and from 1932, 1950, there was a man named george brinkerhoff who operate a fine school here called brinkerhoff flying services, and he trained a lot of people on tailor crafts of a lot. we have many great photographs of this, a lot of great aerial photographs of it. one of the big roles that college park airport played was they were part of the civilian pilot training program called cpt. this was the first federal program to train pilots. this was right before world war two. the us had an idea that they were going to enter the war and compared to europe, there were not many trained pilots. so this was a federal program partner with universities and colleges to basically train pilots. college park airport had one such program which most mainly service at the university of maryland and another thing that the college park airport was we were a wasp station,
