bay area rollout. kenny? >> reporter: the states top health official say the moderna hiccup in san diego has delayed some vaccination clinics across the state. it is the latest pause in what has already been a less than smooth rollout. >> reporter: cars lining up at vaccination sites. this one in san mateo. the rollout continues to sputter, hitting bumps on the road. >> everyone is to blame, there are so many different routes coming in to supply vaccines, it is confusing to everyone. >> reporter: less than a third of california's allocated vaccines have been distributed. that is below the national average. according to the latest state numbers, more than 1.5 million doses administered and 2.2% of the states population receiving the golden first dose. >> allegation from the federal government to the state, we then share different counties and then they put in orders. those orders are set to the cdc and ultimately shipped. >> reporter: local health officials blame the supply chain. severed cisco department of health says it received 12,000 doses last week. but, less than 2000 this week and will run out by thursday. >>

san diego county leaders meantime are expanding their vaccine push and one area hit extremely hard by the pandemic, the south bay has some of the highest case rates anywhere. >>> a school district in palo alto could have students back in the classroom as soon as monday. the ravenswood city school district hopes to reopen some campuses next week to small groups of high needs students. samateo county health leaders say the district doesn't need special permission to open schools to urgent learners, those are students whose learning has been massively disrupted by the pandemic. they hope to start with a group of 11 students monday whose parents have given them permission to return. the district plans to discuss the plans at its board meeting of education today. >>> new this morning east bay city providing extra protection for businesses who have been hit so hard by the pandemic. the city will provide grants to some businesses that closed because of the stay-at-home orders. east bay times reports businesses can receive up to $10,000, but for businesses to qualify, they must show they've lost at least a quarter of th

san diego reported a higher than usual number of allergic reactions.. not many details are being released - but fewer than 10 people were said to needmedical attention. but the reactions are being described as'severe. here in the bay area... doses from that moderna vaccine lot were distributed in alameda, santa clara, and san francisco counties. in santa clara-- county health officials say none of them have been administered and they've warned providers not to use them. in alameda county-- some local providers got doses from the affected lot-- and they've been told not to administer them. in san francisco-- the department of public health got 8-thousand doses - and they've paused any use of them. this will have an impact on the city's ability to complete scheduled appointments this week.. they don't have replacement doses yet. health officials also say they haven't had any reports of anyone have problems from the affected doses. all new at 6.. many parents are asking -- when can my child get the covid-19 vaccine? reporter sabrina shutters spoke to one mom whose two sons are in a vaccine trial right now.. there's one answer to the pressing successful.was fall if the trial the summer or hear back in the summer or fa
