several homes and cars are now damaged following a winter storm moving through southern california. in san diego, a driver died when a giant tree fell onto their car. traffic was at a standstill for several hours near the california- nevada border after a 29-vehicle crash. 25 vehicles and four semi-trucks were involved in the pile-up. it's unknown how many people were hurt or the extent of the injuries. law enforcement believe the winter weather and snowy conditions played a factor in causing the crash. two virginia tech students are charged in connection with the abduction and murder of a virginia girl. a vigil was held over the weekend for 13-year-old nicole lovell. her body was found over the weekend in north carolina. state and federal authorities are continuing to investigate. two escaped inmates being taken back to jail after more than a week on the run. they were captured over the weekend after being found in a stolen van. a woman alerted police when she saw a matching description of the vehicle. investigators say they've already tightened security at the jail... with more changes to come

several homes and cars are now damaged following a winter storm moving through southern california. in san diego, a driver died when a giant tree fell onto their car. forecasters warned the storm could bring flooding and mud traffic was at a standstill for several hours near the california- nevada border after a 29-vehicle crash. 25 vehicles and four semi-trucks were involved in the pile-up. it's unknown how many people were hurt or the extent of the weather and snowy conditions played a factor in causing the crash. two virginia tech students are charged in connection with the abduction and murder of a virginia girl. a vigil was held over the weekend for 13-year-old nicole lovell. her body was found over the weekend in north carolina. state and federal authorities are continuing to investigate. two escaped inmates being taken back to jail after more than a week on the run. they were captured over the weekend after being found in a stolen van. a woman alerted police when she saw a matching description of the vehicle. investigators say they've already tightened security at the jail... with more ch
