it is a sample of san franciscans, it is not everyone. it is helpful and we can pull it up on the map. soint the board here. what you see here is san francisco and the districts, supervisorial districts. the darker green coloring is more likely that precinct is to have a population that says yes, we want to stay with the program. you can see throughout san francisco how receptive the polling says the customer base is. we are proposing in the first phase to target households and achieve about 90,000 accountholders saying yes, please. there are 230,000 residential accounts in san francisco. if our projection of that first 90,000 account holders is wrong, we can reach out to more customers and see if others are interested. we are really looking at this customer outreach and education campaign as a way to make sure we are signing up the right folks who really want the program. but yes, we have done our homework to see if there is an appetite. this map shows you the results of that effort. >> i have seen all those studies. may i have the map u

we raised our to native san franciscan daughters here and there almost out of college. we are excited to be well treated in this community. i have them pro bono work as an architect and my work is without portfolio, so when something comes up, i am able to address it and i would like to speak about barricades' on broadway in the evening hours on fridays and saturdays. many things have been tried, blocking off the roads from all vehicular traffic, but it creates a problem because the parking lots are vacant. without someone in controlling the parking lots, a lot of nefarious activity occurs and was what was ordinarily a police have the area. we tried keeping people from going up the hills and circling around and we had another idea to put a barricade on the middle of the block between broadway so that traffic coming from columbus avenue can't go all the way through. you can go in as far as the barricade hist to keep people from trying to get around and the parking lot could stay open so attendants can monitor the activity and club owners can enjoy the parking the need fo

that is part of the life blood of who we are as san franciscans. >> we could do better.re we on the right track? >> i think we are in a transition right now. we have an interim mayor and a new board of supervisors. i do think we have a new tone at city hall to move things forward. we have a lot of challenges we are facing. i am doing everything i can to put us back on track. >> let's talk about the role of sports in the city's economic future. are you happy with the plans for the america's cup? >> i have been a huge fan of the america's cup. i am proud of this board came together unanimously after a fairly contentious debate to support bringing the america's cup to san francisco in 2013. it is estimated it will not only be an incredible sporting event, not only showcase our city and the natural amphitheater of the bay, but it is estimated to bring in over $1 billion in economic activity with 8000 to 9000 jobs. it will be a lot of fun. i am very excited. >> should we spend money to keep the 49ers? >> i just had a conversation with the head of the organization. i told him

but if you look at some of the actual physical conditions, there's significant flooding where san franciscans are having to wade through to get their vehicles. the facilities for the employees are not ones we would generally accept for our own employees. these are good union jobs and people working in conditions that i think any of you would find are inadequate. so while we are paying less at pier 70 than we would be paying at bayshore, again, this is fair market value by independent appraisal and future uses we bring in will help amortize some of that cost. the next point the budget analyst raised is -- this lease is more expensive than purchasing. again, that is absolutely correct. it is absolutely correct. however, we don't have a purchase option. we did -- we were interested in purchasing this space because we can't move that fast in government to do large real estate transactions. we are unable to do it to acquire it while it was on the market. while we agree that purchasing would be preferable generally to leasing, and we have been moving out of lease space over the years. i think we ha

our daughter is a fifth generation san franciscan. elong record of volunteerism is one major way i stand out among the other candidates. while living in the dorms at san francisco state i started and ran the recycling program which reaches over 5,000 campus residents. after moving off campus i delivered thousands of meals for project open hand and tutored literacy to adults. enteredctionv a -- supervisor elsbernd appointed me, i worked with sfpd, play guitar, give blood several times a year, and going over this list, hoping to demonstrate to you my core belief in civic duty and community involvement. i also believe that the next step in my ability to contribute is to help govern as supervisor. now just a few of the many important issues. we are in economic straits and need to be conservative with our finances now and for the future. pension, salary and benefit reform has come a long way, but we need to do more. let's work with all stakeholders to assure that rules are based on fairness and financial realism for all, not for the persona
