so the next three provisions focus on medi-cal, which is public insurance for low-income san franciscans. so the first provision, cpmc has continued to participate in medi-cal managed care with the san francisco health plan. the next provision requires cpmc to assume responsibility for 5,400 new medicare beneficiaries, and this obligation was met in 2014 and cpmc continues to meet this obligation. in 2017, they had a total of 29,739 beneficiaries. the third requirement is that cpmc serve 1,500 of new medi-cal beneficiaries through a partnership with a tenderloin care provider. currently there is no such provider. to meet this obligation, cpmc has partnered with northeast medical services to bring in st. anthony's clinic as a primary care provider in the tenderloin. cpmc has reported that they are continuing to work with st. anthony's leadership toward a path for sustainability and outreach efforts. a grant of $35,000 was awarded to st. anthony's through the innovation fund to help increase capacity to do outreach. there are two provisions in the development agreement that pertain to the

as a result, too many san franciscans face eviction without knowing what their full rights are. it's not a housing policy that we want to advance in the city and currently the mayor's office of community development spends over $7.5 million annually on eviction protection tenant outreach and education and short-term rental assistance. but these programs do not provide the full level of scope that so many people need stay in their homes. as i said earlier today, assignment proud to announce that we're investing $5.8 million to fund this program over the next two years to support legal representation for tenants facing eviction. i think we've heard from the diversity of san franciscans in of deon j.buchter in terms of his work and dedication to san francisco and our young folks who need some of the biggest support here in san francisco. i do want to touch on his unselfishness as a member of our community, he became the executive director of the southeast community facility, and he's served as executive director for a while, running his own organization, so to speak. i asked him to come back at the end of the year because i will be gone at the end of the year, and he unselfishly came back at number two when he already had a number one spot. secondly, i just want to state that he's already experienced in working with lauchlt. he led the charge with our chop shop documentary where we talk with law enforcement and talk about what are the issues with law enforcement and community. now he's leading the charge over the white paper that we are finalizing right now to work on the 272 department of justice recommendations for change in our police department. he's dedicated to our community, and i just want to say no matt

i've been extremely impressed with san franciscans and their ability to conserve water. the second is ssip, the sewer system improvement project. i think i shared once before to this body in a different context, my wife grew up about 200 yards from a biosolids plant in chicago, and when the wind blew the wrong way, it would ruin your barbecue. my inlaws still live there. the amount that the agency has gone in to bake in environmental justice into the strategic plan, to look hard at communities that are directly impacted by the biosolids plant on the southeast side and on the west side has been truly impressive. it is not an effort, it is stitched into what they do. and i've had the privilege of working alongside staff, working alongside community members in scratching the itch, as i put it. what that means to me is not just saying you're heard. we put these neighborhood feedback forums out. it's actually walking the neighborhood, hearing what is important to the neighborhood, not just mitigating the smell. odor is one thing. how does it affect the day-to-day lives of peo
