i am a native san franciscan, and i grew up riding the cable cars, hanging off the side whenever possible get one of the best views of san francisco that anyone can have. ♪♪ 150 years ago, a man named andrew halliday went down a very steep hill, hauled by a cable, and invented a new means of transportation. we're celebrating that 150th anniversary this year with a special $5 all day cable car fare on california street, which is the closest line to his original line. and we're also celebrating it with a bunch of events and other spectacular things for local people to enjoy. we needed to commemorate this momentous anniversary of our beloved cable cars that are celebrating 150 years, and san francisco is the only city with cable cars. ♪♪ cable car crawl was a great idea, i think, by legacy businesses in san francisco that have been a pleasure to go to and enjoy for generations of san franciscans. costello: we got together with the fairmont, the st. francis, and the buena vista. the idea is they're all on the cable car line, so you can use the cable car as your chariot to get from one to the

if you were to talk to san franciscans that's the biggest problem, it's been existing and every mayoreinstein, which we were talking about today, has tried to tackle it, whether it was newsom with cash, you know, whether it was art agnes when he was doing, you know, the shelters. willie brown even at one point when he was mayor said he didn't think it was a solvable situation. ed lee came up with a department of homelessness. no one has been able to fix this. how do you think that you can fix it? what would be the answer? >> so we just came out with a proposal to say look at all of the available public land we have. we have former candlestick site. we have land inside and outside of san francisco. one of the things that we haven't done in the city, we haven't built enough shelters. we bot to have the requisite number of shelters. the other thing, this is what i was going to tell you, we ran a ballot measure last year to bring mandatory audits to the department of homelessness for the first time in the city's history. where the money is going, absolutely. the first audit that was done

this resolution is about san franciscans and supporting especially the most vulnerable ones, our seniors, our tenants with disabilities. that will end up being tracked by the exclusion zone and our small businesses that already been suffering during pandemic. it is a way for us to support them. i just also want to remind colleagues that, you know, this actually do and will come with teeth at some point. the mayor during the budget process has put $10 million on reserve and also with your support that we together as a body also put that very same $10 million on reserve. so that means that it will require us as this body imagery city to vote to allocate that $10 million reserve for appropriate allocation. so with that, with your support and i look forward to your unanimous support today that also speak in volume that you know that we are here to support our local communities. and so thank you for your co-sponsorship. supervisor walton. thank you, president peskin. i just thought i was already added at a co-sponsor, but i wanted to be added as a co-sponsor. supervisor safai. thank you. mr.
