i've lived in san francisco. i have worked hard to assist the often overlooked, the disenfranchised, pork, limited english-speaking population in san francisco. because this group is not in the popular voting bloc, it is not easy for them to access city hall or other nonprofit organizations. i can proudly say my hard work has resulted in these individuals who can now help themselves. i created jobs for struggling musicians in chinatown to promote their talent and bring truth back to chinatown and in all speech. i promoted the rich cultural music here in return for my efforts, i have become their leader. i can say that i have helped in a small way. small businesses because of the art and music from within the community. it has been a win-win situation for the artists, community residents and merchants. there are many issues equally pressing women of color, care, and is equally pressing in all the complexities surrounding it, to be frank. none of the other candidates are mentioning any of these important issues. i

i represent both san francisco and the san mateo. what i found is many individuals who used to live in san francisco do not anymore. they are in san mateo county. when you ask why, number-one, because quality of the public education that their kids were getting was not there. what did they do? they send their kids to private school. you can handle one child and public schoolone childtwo -- one child in public school, but two you cannot. the jobs were not there, so they had to move. finally, the cost of living, housing, those other variables we need to work on. we have to improve the quality of public education across the city, not just some areas or schools. you have to also provide additional money to developers to develop affordable housing. finally, we need the diversity of jobs. a variety of jobs that fit all qualifications. that is how you keep the middle class from leaving san francisco. >> thank you. as you know san francisco was the first u.s. city to ban plastic check out bags over four years ago. that ban only applied to supermarkets and to pharmacy chains, and the ordinance helped to reduce plastic bag litter in san francisco as you heard by 18% which was a great victory. it also reduced contamination in our collective recyclables and compost. although we do take great pride in being the first city to have banned plastic bags in the u.s. and are pleased with the impact that the original ordinance made, plastic bags continue to be a problem in san francisco. i would like to highlight a couple of those concerns. plastic bags cannot be recycled through our curb side or pickup program do the economics and are still the largest and most costly contamination. there by continuing to pose a threat and a real obstacle. and then finally plastic bags are continuing to be a threat to marine and wildlife. a 2010 study named san francisco's mission creek as one of the most plastic bag choked waterways in its annual trash top survey. a
