allie rasmus, ktvu channel 2 news. >>> san francisco police are trying to figure out whether a taxicablved in a hit-and-run or if he didn't realize he struck a man crossing the street. it happened around 10:00 last night at buchanan and bay streets near fort mason center. the impact shattered the front window of the taxi. a witness says a group of people were walking across buchanan. the first people made it across safely but the third person was hit by that cab. the force knocked him out of his shoes. a witness says the taxi kept going and that's when she followed the cab in had her own car and brought him -- in her own car and brought him back to the accident scene. >> i told him that he has to stop and the police were coming. so he told me, yes, i am going back to the scene. i am going back. you can follow me. i am going back. >> reporter: police did interview the cab driver at the scene. right now there is no word from police on whether or not he was cited. the person who was hit was alert and conscious when the ambulance took him to the hospital. >>> a fifth grade teacher has been
