courtesy of the san francisco arts commission, one of our other partners. the inspiration of our campaign came from the powerful use of these images, and words, and communications that reflect all of us. the image in the middle is not a photograph. it is a larger-than-life charcoal graphite drawing by an artist named joel daniel phillips. it was an exhibit on displacement of people who might be migrants, our homeless population. when you are standing in front of a podium and behind you is a larger-than-life drawing like this, you cannot help but notice it just captured our attention. imagine that on buildings, billboards, you know, something that says something about our values as san franciscans. finally, you might've seen this last one. this is a recent work by a french artist, a 65-foot image of an immigrant child. you will notice the two border guards on the u.s. side. a powerful image with a message about our humanity. that is really what we want to reflect in the 2020 census. thank you again, very much, for inviting us. i will be happy to answer any q

san francisco police commission, a longtime resident liberal san franciscan. joe, thanks very much for coming on. the idea that hundreds of thousands of dollars in city used to destroy artserals would cheer this is so bewildering to someone my age, middle-aged person. i'm not sure what to say. i just wanted to bring you one who lived in san francisco and give us a reality check here. is this actually happening? is this the state of liberalism 2019, destroying art? >> by the way, i am a san francisco democrat, have been my entire life. so is my entire family. $600,000 is how much they want to spend to paint over this wall. now, letnd me put this in perspective here. this is a mural of the life of george washington at a school named george washington high school. this mural is in the right place.e. it's a teaching moment that is being robbed of the students and worse yet, the teachers themselves should be outraged. this is a city where the average teacher starts at $52,000 a year. if you double that $204,000 a year, you are still $11,000 short of the poverty level in san francisco and these guys in voting unanimously to spend $600,000 to remove this painting. the teachers
