today in san francisco, the city's first massive vaccination site. open for appointments at eight o'clock this morning. it is located in a parking lot at san francisco city college. it is a drive thru clinic. this site is appointment only, and for now on lee, health care workers and people 75 older are eligible before the gates even opened. all of today's 500 appointments were already booked. those lucky people we talked with, say they are happy and relieved to receive their first dose of the vaccine. i am like feeling wonderful. this is. yeah. yeah. so i can't ask for anything more. everybody was very pleasant and helpful, and we're very grateful that everyone. the city hopes to wrap up operations and vaccinate 3000 people a day at this particular side. the bigger goal is to vaccinate 10,000 people a day citywide once other sites are open, and today, mayor london bridge acknowledge the challenge of getting enough doses from the state but voiced in optimistic tone as soon as we have the vaccines in our possession. our goal is to get them out the door and this is a great day.
