bay inland areas. but downtown san francisco, one of the relatively cool u.s. cities out there right now. 72 degrees when you should be in the mid 60's. so certainly tracking pleasant temperatures there. we're still in the low 70's for downtown san francisco at 71 degrees in brentwood, a scorching 107 degrees out there right now. triple digit heat for dublin livermore and conquered even saint helene, a 103 degrees. a temperature change tracking about 5 to 15 degrees of warming compared to around this time yesterday. biggest warm-up. no surprise for the bay area coastline along the san francisco peninsula coastline with downtown san francisco tracking that double digit heat. but we're tracking not really much of a marine layer influence when track report tracking winds out of the north. so we're seeing sustained winds at 17 miles per hour for downtown san francisco in the teens for concord and even europe willed. right now, we aren't really noticing much of a marine layer influences, but we are taking a look ahead at the next 7 day forecast. triple digit heat an

bay area. occupancy down 20% to compared to last year. pricing down 40%. kristen: wow. is that just san francisco or bay area wide? o. the gentleman i spoke to who runs properties across the bay area has seen a wide decline across the bay area. some places less than san francisco. some places like oakland seeing steeper declines. kristen: what do airbnb hosts in their groups think is driving this? kevin: there are a few reasons why. part of it is a return to more normal patterns after 2022, which saw what a lot of folks have colorfully dubbed revenge travel. a lot of pent-up demand filling up airbnb's. hotels, tourist things of that nature. alternatively, we have not seen a return in the international tourists. a lot of the folks who used to come from east asia in particular that spent a lot of money in the city has not returned to the level that folks have been expecting or wanting. the last factor is business travel. business travelers the city for meetings comic for conventions. that has not picked up. we are at levels in terms of conventions that we are basically at levels that we have seen in 2018, 2070. krist

san from 90 down to 79. let's take you across the bay area, if you're headed out for fireworks shows, as you see here in san francisco, as you mentioned, it is chilly with the fog. 59 degrees with the fireworks lift off here, 9:30 to 10:00. a better chance of seeing firework displays with 68 degrees, and we'll see a mix of some fog hitting in here late 9:00 into 10:00 tonight, best bet of seeing any kind of activity, certainly out towards concord and livermore. right now a very comfortable 79 degrees. this is going to be the spot to be if you're thinking about san francisco but with the fog coming in really, again, concord, livermore going to be your best viewing out there. we'll get down to some 60s. have fun with the family and of course be safe. as we roll it into our forecast here for tomorrow, the southern branch of the jet stream is moving right over the bay area. that's really helping to kick up this fog for us and keep some of that hottest air well away from us. so through tomorrow morning, that means that fog is back with some spotty areas of drizzle to start, so everybody getting that chance of that fog tom

san francisco. rodney founded chapter of the black panther party in, compton, california, in 1966. from then on, was on the fbi's radar and under surveillance, rodney moved to the san francisco bay area in 1970 to work with national united committee to free davis. this was when i met him. 20 to 20 years later in 1990. rodney opened, the first black owned gay bar in san francisco. it was called the eagle creek saloon. opened its doors to everyone. gay bars all over the country were notorious for their racist practices, making it difficult for black and latino patrons to enter. the white owners the white owned bars required as many as three or four kinds of identification for people of color. in contrast to the easy i.d. requirements for, white patrons eagle ended this practice. the legacy of its spirit embodied in its slogan, a friendly place with a funky base for race. located at 1884 market street, it was a space of celebrate, shine and resistance hosting for activist groups honoring black holidays and heroes, including an historic street vigils for those lost to age. although the bar closed in 1993, it lives on in the creative imagination of rodney's daughter, cindy barnett, in her
