really started my whole career in public service, and so in san francisco, the call for public service is so important, especially in bayview. we live in a very divisive time. i think we all know that. in san francisco, that does get played out. as much as we had similar values , we want the same outcomes, it is still a bit divisive. what i hope to do in my public service as a vice chair is to bring all of the different communities together, you know, as a planner by day, i tried to bring my experience and my knowledge into how we can develop more equitable and complete communities. one that supports people at all income levels, of all races, of all orientations and of all backgrounds, and at the end of the day, this is what i want. it is not specifically targeted for the lgbtq community, but it is deeply affecting the lgbtq community. in district ten, there hasn't always been a history of the lgbtq presence, so when my husband and i moved there about 15 years ago, you know, we started to see more and more people come in from different parts of san francisco and different parts of the region. over time, we have created a re

there were six san francisco shooting cases that are being investigated. of the six, four occurred in bayview. the captain of bayview actually held a community meeting yesterday with our commander of the actually golden gate division who's covering the metro division, as well, this week. but what came out of the meeting is we don't believe these shootings are related. even saying that, though, they are concerning. six shootings and four in one district are concerning, so we are making some patrol adjustments and personnel adjustments so we can figure out what to do. we're going into the summer months, so things get a little bit busier in terms of violent crime. each captain and the commanders have constructive summer violence reduction plans, and those will be put into full effect now moving forward through the summer. so there's no particular connections with these shootings, but four is a lot for one area, and that is concerning, so we'll keep an eye on that. in terms of general crime, there is one significant which actually was an aggravated assault and hit and run. it was somewhat of a ro

bayview. she her story is one of african-americans in san francisco. the one different neighborhoods she got to experience and as a result, understand the tragedies involved in displacement as well as the environmental and injustices that apolitical afflt communities of color. she can tell about the rise and fall of community. which are very rare. in 2001, marie was hired by the organization and environmental justice. one of the first ever environmental justices granted issued by the department of environment. the purpose of the grant was to conduct outreach on energy efficiency issues as well as renewables for the community. she also empowered residents to advocate for the shutdown of the power plant which was a long time in our justice struggle in the bayview. my own personal experience with her was through -- try to include environmental communities. marie would he's state t -- hesitate to put departments and other elected officials on blast despite receiving funding for them. she told the truth as it was. for her, she stoke with credibility as well
