we think of ourselves as a san francisco business i want to keep my business on union and in this flat for so long as i can i applied for a temporary extension it's the best location for me my employees and the community. i fear that moving and i have look at into that will be far more costing not to mention the cost of moving he invested one hundred hundreds thousand dollars i realize this was any choosing choice under a conditional use permit i looked at the rentals in the area there was nothing comparable i predicament i will have to move to los angeles because it the a lot of small business apparel company lives i have my production team in los angeles the use of a 2 hundred thousand square feet warehouse i couldn't afford here and talent for those types of tasks in the area but i want to maintain the heart of my business in san francisco and keep my kids at those schools and keep the live style choirs i see office space there's the for rent and it is expensive. my being my own landlord allowed me to be on union and allows me to recruit amazing staff i couldn't operate without them

final item that the er is working on or we're proposing is that is this does effect new businesses in san francisco previously under current law someone came in the month of april or may and they were starting their business the way that the law worked they would have to registration their business with the renewal period they'd have to come back and pay thirty days latter to renew for next year we thought this the silly so we're striving when someone paid we have to issue within thirty days their certificate even if not effective until july one we'd have to issue it increase in the mid of may people had to come back we thought it was not very convenient for small businesses so, now once this law changes you can come in and registration and pay nor the current year and the year coming up and we'll issue our certificate for july one this will be a slight administrative active convenience for those new small businesses but we think it will be simple they'll appreciate this and certainly someone that has done it in the past knows it's frustrating. i want to first of all, ask for questions and get into

there wasn't a list of businesses in san francisco that maintained and operated a point of sale. so we knew there were some registered locations businesses that had scanners we we used the scales from our dies from our gas petroleums to begin the process of identifying the businesses with point of sale stations we sent out 2 thousand invoices in 2011. and we got a subsequential number of them we sent out a letter in multiple languages to try to explain what we were doing. that was we know there are more than 2 thousand so the following year if you go to the mid of that page you'll see that we decided to go to the sf data po s 5 hundred and 54 thousand businesses that's unreasonable that's the entire we can't do that so we ended up encouraging as many as we could we ended up in 2012 sending out well - let me back up in 2012, we sent out over 2 thousand invoices and then we obtained an sf data source there was that was unreasonable to building we had 5 hundred and 54 thousand. i put everybody that i had on cleaning up the list. and that will be reflected and you'll see how much more

business please step forward. for those who don't know their young people from our city is from our underserved community in san francisco. who have worked critically hard to volunteer to improve the experience of our parks and small businesses in san francisco. we've had this year i want to thank the 36 teenagers who transcribed over 2 thousand hours of service for research and plan habitat and restoration projects and 25 open green spaces primarily in the southeast areas of san francisco those young leaders have help with the workshops and engaging teamwork and vial education and park engagement i want to thank you guys for your tremendous work and take a moment to thank the recreation and parks department that has made a difference in the lives of the people in san francisco and the port of san francisco and the park alliance force the fiscal year leaders which is one example of the value of our local parks in contributing to our city. with that, i want to invite up a number of folks from the green program but first brenda who is the volunteer outreach coordinate to speak on behalf of the program >> hi thank you so mu
