pg&e said that these were all checked and were safe but the company told the "san francisco chronicle" yesterday they can't find the records to back it up in those crucial inspections -- and those crucial inspections might never have happened. under federal law they should have been inspected by 2007. a pg&e spokesman told the "chronicle" recordkeeping is not what it should have been and recordkeeping problems prior art of what led to the deadly pipeline blast in san bruno back in 2010 that killed eight people. documents show that the company never conducted the type of inspection that could have detected a problem in san bruno and might have prevented the explosion. pg&e discovered this latest problem while reviewing their inspection history. recently surveys however showed that there are no problems with these lines that are running through the east bay and san jose. the company gave the "chronicle" a statement. it says, pg&e took steps to ensure that this issue does not exist elsewhere in the system or occur again. pg&e believes this issue does not exist elsewhere in the system. th
