02am, this morning we had a 3.7 magnitude quake just northwest of the san francisco zoo. >> those of us and western san francisco daly citypacifica reported quite a lot of shaking. well, several 1000 of the rest of us across the bay, some minor shaking. then at 9.39. this morning, we had a 2.5 aftershock. so a busy morning seismically at least near the coastline. here's a view at the coast right now in half moon bay. with those clear skies overhead, wind wise, a little breezy at the coast and in our upper elevations enough so that we do have high wind watches for upper elevations this weekend. aside from this is very comfortable. temperatures are in the 50's to low 60's already this morning and our afternoon highs later on today. very similar to where we were yesterday, which is going to be in the 60's to low 70's, potentially record-breaking warmth yet again. back to a lot, john, at 10, 30 right now. let's get to the latest los angeles county where those fires are burning and first responders. >> have just announced that the palisades fire, which was one of the 2 biggest fire is 8% contained. so that's good news for them

and if you are closer to the san andreas fault around daly city, western san francisco, you felt a little more of that shaking now as far as the skies are concerned, another brilliantly sunny day here across the bay area. we are looking windy dry, offshore wind but nothing super significant. san francisco is much calmer than areas to the south. obviously, they just haven't seen the winter rains kick into gear yet. we still do have those fire weather warnings, the red flag warnings as well as our high wind warnings up until around 06:00pm tonight. air quality advisories also for socal because all the smoke down there, we have our high wind advisories that go back into effect this weekend in or upper elevations, mostly courtesy of 30 mile per hour winds. fire danger does temper a bit for southern california, which is a bit of good news for them for sure. smoke is made its way offshore for the most part, some of it has settled up to the north in the day. but it's really not a lot of it. in fact, we have a northerly wind that's going to kick it out into the weekend. so not a huge concern for

oakland. 65, martinez 63 and mid 60s in antioch for the peninsula, 62 in daly city, down towards palo alto. we're at 64, san francisco, 64 across the mission and 61 in the marina. and those light winds continue across the north bay, 67 in ukiah and 64 here in sonoma. so while it's all good right now, what we're seeing is what could be another windy weather set up by the time we get to next week. now, this is still very early out and this all is dependent. every single bit of it on these weather systems developing right where we have them placed on the maps. and current long range models are showing that this could happen for us. unfortunately, with this strong area of low pressure over southern california, high pressure to the north, air flows from high to low pressure. so that would set up this vacuum effect and really pull some strong wind across california again next monday, where gusts may be up to 15 to 50mph. but if this low pressure right here develops in another location, moves more off towards the east, all of this is off the table and we would not be looking at strong winds. so in the coming days we're goin

daly city 60 and a light wind. it's not going to be as windy as it was yesterday. while san franciscol see a high of 61 downtown and the outer sunset, also in the low 60s. mill valley 62 and santa rosa today headed for 64 degrees. we are really lacking when it comes to the rainfall south of the golden gate bridge, but santa rosa had so much rainfall early last month that we're still at a pretty good surplus over 11in, but we are now running a deficit from oakland to livermore to san jose and right on target, on par for normal for san francisco. as we take a look at how much rain we've measured since october 1st, it is so important to see these storms every few days in january, because typically this is one of our wetter months of the year. we get 60% of our yearly rainfall between december and february. with january getting the most. then we know that we are still waiting on some rain, and it looks as we go through the long range outlook. still no change to this pattern as high pressure has been very stubborn and driving the storm track well to the north of us. so unfortunately no rai
