san francisco? mayor lee: thank you. first, i want to be clear. i believe the san francisco forty-niners belong in san francisco. i want to make that clear to the public and to all of you. this is their home, it's been the home of the forty-niners, five super bowl victories, and it's the only fitting location for this team. as you are aware, the city has focused its efforts on a new football stadium for the 49ers at the hunters point shipyard. the shipyard redevelop approvals included all the necessary land use entitlements to build a football stadium, including a certified environmental impact report, rent-free stadium, and it included $100 million in funding from private funding developers toward the construction of the stadium itself. with that, as you are aware, the city and the 49ers have recently, and i want to thank the board of surprises for expeditiously approving the negotiations and settlement that was a decades-long dispute over the candlestick park. he recently approved that settlement agreement and a lease agreement with the forty-niners that extends the lease for an additional three years to the --

san francisco and want to come here. i would very much like to see forty-niners stay here. what that means, we will have to talk about it. i am not a big fan of massive public subsidies to sports teams. i think we should work hard to keep them here. >> we're almost out of time. are there any other issues or concerns we have not discussed? are there any other specific issues you plan to concentrate on throughout your turn? >> a couple that come to mind. i introduced in control legislation to make it easier for tenants displaced by fires or earthquakes or other disasters to find below market replacement meant -- rent while their apartments are being fixed. there are some aspects of our rent control laws that make it difficult to find those kinds of temporary accommodations at below market rent. i have been working with groups on legislation that introduced that will help there. i have also requested an economic impact study to be performed on the entertainment and nightlife industries. it is a very important economic and cultural sector in our city. we have never really taken

san francisco translated into spending money. that was a good thing for our economy. in terms of the forty-niners, i am not convinced we need to spend money to keep them here. i have a strong suspicion of the supposed to deal in santa clara is a house of cards. we have a great program for them all set up with a new lennar development at candlestick park. i think they will recognize that and come back. >> was there anything magical that happened in your district as a result of the world series? >> i imagine there were a lot of districts in district 7 he sat and cried when they watched the celebration like i did. i think those are the magical moments. a lot of parents and children region that whole week of the world series was one i will never forget, particularly the day of the parade. it was not just my district. that was a magical time for this region. >> in your regdistrict, deal have any particular projects to give us insight on? >> one was a basic infrastructure thing that was a big deal. san francisco circle. not a lot of people realize that more cars travel through one of those intersection
