partnerships in the candlestick development are delivering a check for $7.2 million to the san francisco foundation. [applause] the check will be delivered to the san francisco foundation who will hold it on behalf of the community of bayview-hunters point and all of district 10 lennar -- district and. [applause] this money is for community benefits, specifically job training and affordable housing, and will benefit the entire community of the bay view- hunters point, and all of district 10. we have a few instrumental people who will make brief remarks. i would like to begin with the president of lennar urban, the managing partner of the group developing candlestick point project. mr. bonner is a nationally recognized urban planner and redevelopment experts. we are very lucky to have him as the manager of this entire project. [applause] there is no secret as to how we do it. we do it with the residents of our se sector believing as a city we can fulfill that promise. we also do it with labor. we do it with our churches and our religious leaders. we do it with activists in the community. we do it with the organizing projects that have been faithful in working with the community to remind us of what our obligations are. we do it with the san francisco foundation because they know these promises are at the heart of everything we believe and why we are still here in our city. whether i a

it will be an application process through the san francisco foundation. commissioner borden: i have a question, it is in the area of health care, but is not. that came to our attention that the hospital situation, i don't know if anybody can speak to or knows anything about that. i recognize it is probably different, but i want to understand what it was. >> it is not something we are aware, but the project sponsor can comment on it. >> i am a lawyer that represents the cpmc. i like some of the things you have heard this evening over the course of the day, a little bit of information gets messed around. the situation is not analogous at all. you're probably familiar with the township health care district. there is a dispute about that is in litigation about ownership of the hospital. there was a court decision about two weeks ago that dismissed litigation about in in favor of what should take place, and at this juncture, there are no plans to close the hospital. things are under review. no notice has been provided. >> and no agreement around operating marg

san francisco. my name is lisa villareal, and i am here during this lunch representing not only the coalition for community schools, but also president and ceo of these and francisco foundation. she could not join us to introduce the mayor of san francisco. let me tell you a bit about our mayor and let me tell you about the passion he has for community schools. rarely do we find an elected official, and mayor that comes with so many vital skills and experiences that relate directly to powerful community engagement. from his early days as managing attorney for the asian law caucus, to key positions including the director of employment relations, director of the human rights commission, the director of city purchasing, director for public works department, and finally, city and administrator prior to his election. mayor edwin lee has experienced every civic perspective. his dedication and a passion for children and youth are evident by his extraordinary support for the san francisco department of children, youth, and families. one of the first national city based initiatives to support children and youth. to be matched only by his outstanding partnership with the san francisco

i am the client service director at the san francisco aids foundation.i am concerned about the proposed budget cuts for subsidized hiv housing. there is a proposal to cut $300,000 for hiv housing. and that will impact four different programs, primarily the program run by the san francisco aids foundation. we subsidized housing for up to 400 clients to live with very low income, getting -- for them, it means a 5% increase to their portion of the rent. that'll be $23 to $105 each person. for us, this cut will mean a lot. movies, a nice dinner. for our clients, it means three days for groceries. that does not include the cuts they're getting through ssi, increases of medication costs, and other expenses that they have. please, reconsider. do not implement the proposed budget cut for this hiv housing. thank you.
