up here in san francisco, gave me the opportunity to explore many cool and unusual spots that only san francisco has to offer. one of my favorite spots is the palace of fine arts in the marina5 as part of the panama pacific. it was designed by architect may beck. after the exhibition, most of the buildings were torn down. but san francisco loved the magical pal ace so much, they decided to keep it. today, people come from all over the world to visit. with the rotunda and pond, it makes it an ideal location for weddings and events. i personally enjoy walking around the palace and taking in the beauty. public works led a project completed in 2009 that included seismic upgrades, restoration of walkways and others to preserve the history of the palace of fine arts. if you haven't already, come check it out. >> the slide has been a popular spot for generations of san franciscans. the park opened in 1979 and was developed by local artists, activists and employees. you can find the park tucked away on avenue in the heights. it's cared for by a group of volunteers. what makes this place so special, side by side, 40-foot slides that can bring a smile to children and adults. as one o

san francisco? looks like we'll tip over the mark here in the mission to 71. slightly cooler in the marina76 here in santa rosa. extended forecast keeps dry weather through the next seven days. at the beaches we're looking at milder weather. warmest beach spot in doubt, and probably one of the busiest, santa cruz, mid-70s into next thursday's forecast. on the extended, we stay dry in san francisco as well. warmest right through sunday, then back to some 60s into next week. for inland valleys, we're also tracking with mid-70s all the way into next thursday. eventually, some rainfall in mid-february. our long range outlook, we already talked about the next seven days and how dry it will be for us. next rain, as we also mentioned, the 13th to the 16th. for the next three months, the things we're paying attention to is la nina looks to be fading. that could bring us an equal chance for above or below average rain. if we have below average rain coming our way, we may actually see the drought creep back in. there's still some hope, the mid-and end of february, also into march, we could get close

san francisco, the 101 central freeway, only 10 minutes. no troubles out of oakland. quiet on the richmond/san rafael bridge. we had some early-morning roadwork, not causing troubles. light traffic 8 minutes from marina bay parkway to sir francis drake boulevard. and that seems to be the case for all our bay area bridges including the golden gate bridge where traffic is moving pretty nicely as you work your way out of marin county into san francisco. no accidents right now along 101. so an easy drive as you head through there. now, mass transit is on time for bart. 31 trains, muni and caltrain. there is a signal issue for ace train number one. they are about 10 to 15 minutes late. so do plan for that. also, make sure you plan for some schedule changes this weekend or especially monday because of the holiday. so they will be on a modified schedule. >>> it's looking grade out there. i love this camera shot. you can see how clear it is this morning. it's also why it's cool this morning. so here's a look at our current conditions. temperatures 38 in oakland, 40 in concord. so just dropped off a couple of degrees in oakland. 47 for san francisco and yes down near that freezing mark in santa rosa. some of
