nbc bay area's cheryl hurd joins us from golden gate park in san francisco with the very latest. cheryl, what happened there? >> reporter: well, raj, police are still on the scene here at golden gate park. as you can see, this statue of francis scott key was torn down and dragged through the grass and ended up right here. three statues taken down here in the park. the scene played out all over the country. tonight we obtained this video of monuments being taken down in golden gate park. ropes were tied to all of them. francis scott key pulled down along with ulysses s. grant and junipero serra. police say about 400 protesters arrived here around 8:30. police say they did not engage with them. a similar scene taking place in downtown raleigh, north carolina, tonight. two confederate monuments torn down. one of the statues was dragged through the streets and left on the courthouse steps. and in washington, d.c., demonstrators toppled a statue of confederate general albert pike near d.c.'s police headquarters and set it on fire. the demonstrators wrapped two ropes around the statue t
