the san francisco park commission accepted a $100,000 gift from the estate to build a memorial in honoreers in the area. the city and county of san francisco contributed an additional $200,000 and the stadium was built in a year. in the 1930s it was home to several colleges such as usf, santa clara and st. mary's for competition and sporting. in 1946 it became home to the san francisco 49ers where they played nearly 25 years. the stayed de yam sat 60,000 fans. many caught game the rooftops and houses. the niners played the last game against the dallas cowboys january 3, 1971 before moving to candlestick park. the stadium hosted other events before demolition in 1989. it suffered damages from the earthquake. it was reconstructed to seat 10,000 fans with an all weather track, soccer field and scoreboards. it hosts many northern california football championship games. local high schools sacred heart and mission high school used the field for home games. the rivalry football games are sometimes played here. today it is a huge free standing element, similar to the original featuring tall pin

shrink number of available spots and families we can serve in rec and park camp to our great joy is extremely popular in san francisco. that is all credit to their team how much parents want rec and park camps. what ended up happening because of the popularity of rec and park camps, because we gave priority families a week ahead to sign up, those spots were taken in minutes. the good news about that is that there are families in san francisco that are going to get rec and park camp spaces for the first time ever. last time i heard there were about 500 families that weren't in the rec and park system who's kids are participating in these camps for the first time. that is nothing short of exciting and success story. what that means is that for many families that always participate in rec and park camp over the summer, they were told that they're getting free summer camp opportunities for the first time. then there were no opportunities where in the past they were able to get opportunities. of course the disappointment was high and the feelings if this really better us and our families. at least before we got one and tw

san francisco over 24 hours. it was spotted around 4:00 a.m. yesterday, and then they posted warning types up at bernal heights park yesterday evening. t's been wandering around san francisco for more than 24 hours, and someone finally spotted it today. they're very hard to find. we were up in bernal heights park yesterday when we saw animal care and control searching the park with their van, and it has bernal heights watching. again, they're preparing the dart. they're hoping to get this animal out of here safely. police are standing by. the police car right here has two officers in the front seat. i'm guessing they're prepared to act too if they need to. so we're trying to remain quiet, our lights off. we'll continue to bring you updates as they work right now to get this mountain lion out of san francisco. >> jean, while we have you there near bernal heights. you have spfd, animal control and fish and wildlife. any indication the timetable, will they wait this out or do they want to get to that mountain lion in the tree in the next several minutes? >> as you just saw, they are preparing their darts. i don't know how long that takes
