i had an incident involving the san francisco police department in 2007. many of the experiences i was involved in left me with serious doubts, not about any of the san francisco police officers. the vast majority i have encountered have been honorable men and women who have a tough job and do their ultimate best to try to do that. however, i found the hierarchy of the police department and this police compligs, unfortunately, put the records that you keep and reports that you do beyond the reach of the average citizen. one of the things the sunshine ordinance task force clearly states is that it should be organized in such a to allow a person to research the requests and ask for specific documents. in other words, i should be able to go in there and look. there have been a number of things i have tried to find and been unable to. the 2003 report from o.c.c. to the board of supervisors regarding the patterns of withholding information from occ investigators is something that interests me immensely but i was never able to find ute whether this commission act

i'm from the san francisco police department. i'm currently assigned to the abc liaison unit. the san francisco police department is in opposition of this conditional use change because there is community opposition to it. the business has, in the past operated in violation of their current entertainment permit and engaged in entertainment in the space that they are proposing a change. the venue originated as a restaurant and is currently licensed by the a.b.c. as a restaurant and what we are finding is a lot of these businesses start out as restaurants and then they morph into something more like a club. there is an abundance of signage on the building itself that pertains to entertainment, alcohol available, as well as menu items at the premise. the signage promotes blight in the neighborhood and it is just unsightly. the current use is reasonable and prudent. the police department strongly opposes the expansion of the permit at this venue and lastly, if you plan on approving this item we would ask that it be continued to allow the police department to bring forward more info
