please, we ask you to come back. -- san francisco police department is tremendous. i want to go through some security initiative that we have in place, have had in place, and additions. with events like this, sometimes things get lost in the shuffle. of all the officers, the countless number of security guard that work the event for us, they performed admirably and in many cases, absolutely outstanding with what they have had to deal with. in my 19 years of doing this, i have never, never had to do with the amount of calls for service, the amount of fights, behavior that is absolutely not accepted at our stadium, or quite frankly, at any other sporting event across the country. hats off to you, chief, and your team, security, a shares, ticket takers who had to endure the behavior of people that i do not think should be called fans. for those of you coming to the games, it does not matter which team you support. the behavior of saturday night is not welcome. do not come. you are absolutely not welcome. we are reviewing cameras and any footage that we have on the inte

my photographer allen leon and i are standing next to a team of san francisco police and b.a.r.t. police officers. we are being told that all the media will have to leave. they have taken our press passes and they are processing release forms and they are being told they are going to be making arrests of anybody who is still there. i have counted 50 officers that are down here. also some in security uniforms. right now it's very quiet down here. at different points we saw people being arrested and being taken away i would say about six or so. there's about six people who were taken away in handcuffs and i'm just staying with the photographer right now as we're being processed. >> are you getting any indication -- >> jana are you getting any indication until how long until the station will reopen? >> no i do not. right now everything has been shut down. as you can see the gates are closed both on this side and on the west field shopping center sight and the entrance to market street. so right now it's very calm but they haven't made an indication as to what the next step will be or

san diego. i would encourage any of you who are interested to speak with me about putting up a panel presentation together. they take proposals on various topics and the police commission and the san francisco police department are engaged in some pretty cutting edge policies from the work we're doing around community policing to the work around hour crisis intervention team or also, the juvenile protocols we have in place and other jurisdictions are interested, would be interested in what we do. in addition to my attendance, one of the attendees was the director of the police complaints authority of trinidad and tobago. following the conference, she came out to san francisco with a delegation to understand how the office of complaints works. she was able to meet with representatives from the u.s. attorney's office. the office only investigates the most serious complaints of police misconduct including criminal misconduct and misconduct involving serious injury. you also have before you of the august comprehensive statistical report. in the report, you will find that 69 complaints with it -- were filed in august. through august 31, 2011, 552 complaints have been filed. as of that date, the

one thing people seem to forget is when you are a member of the san francisco police department, it is irrelevant as to who you are, your race, sexual orientation, religion, when an officer calls for back up, no one asks, they respond. when citizens call, the response. this police department is a family. one of the highest ranking members of the pride lands is wearing my father's badget and i talked to him frequently, as frequently as last week. there is no secret list. they are members of the family. a family that is sworn to protect and serve the city and someone's sexual orientation is irrelevant. this is an incredible department and i am proud. commissioner terman: i made myself clear that diversity helps us connect to our communities in ways that are beneficial to the greater community at large. so, i do not know of any secret list. as for reference brought in by supervisors and there being four supervisors, i do not know what that is a reference to. i was elected by 11 of 11 supervisors to sit where i am today. thank you. >> i stand before this commission. it represents the commu
