san francisco police are about to give up updates on the murder of a hiker in marin and the three young people. audrey kerry was found last saturday morning in golden gate park. initially police say she died of a head injury. today they reveal she had been shot to death. two days later, an of 67-year-old yoga teacher was found shot sto three others wounded death in a hiking trail near fairfax. they linked the two killings because of the similarities in the cases. victims shot to death in wooded areas. carter's car was traced to portland, oregon where the three suspects were arrested and n evidence came to light. >> when the arrest was made in oregon there, was property that belonged to our victim that was located in the possession of the suspects and again, we can't go into detail as far as what property that was, but that is what made the connection to the san francisco case. >> 23-year-old morrison lamply, sean angold and lia scott allgood will be arraigned in court today. we expect to hear the latest from investigators. here is tara moriarty with what you expect to hear from them. >>

bob redell joining us from san francisco's police department with the latest on this investigation. >> reporter: sam and laura, san francisco police did take what they are describing as a person of interest into custody. been interviewing them at their tenderloin station after a shooting that took place around 8:00 last night when police arrived in a residential building in the 100 block of mason street. they found a woman who had been shot in the upper part of her body. the responding officers tried cpr to keep her alive. unfortunately she died at the scene. so again they do have a person of interest in custody. police are not saying right now is what led up to this shooting, what motive was and whether it was a targeted attack or a random killing. they did say they might be releasing some more information later this morning. again, a woman shot and killed just off market on the 100 block of mason street. one person of interest in custody. reporting live here in san francisco, bob redell, "today in the bay." >> thank you, bob. 6:02. new details now. police in berkeley reopened a coup

san francisco, a couple of cars on those cash lanes. nice right. at the san mateo bridge, high wind advisory earlier but that has been canceled. so far so good. >> thank you. developing news where a police officer is recovering from injuries covering the lineup duties. >> reporter: this is an ongoing investigation and investigators are still here on the scene processing evidence in the area, that's what one officer told me, there is still a lot left from this crime scene. let's give you background on what we know. san francisco police say they first got a call about a car burglary near bella avenue and when one officer got out of his car to investigate that's when the suspect ran him over. the suspect ended up hitting the officer with his car and hit another police car just arriving to the scene but that suspect was not able to get away, and police say two other people may have been involved and were detained. back out here, we know that the officer who was injured may have broken some ribs and sustain some other injuries but at this point we are told that he is in stable condition at this time. and again this is still an ongoing investigation and will bring you the latest as we have it
