. ♪ clean power sf is san francisco's key way of fighting climate change by renewable energy and offering it to san francisco customers. i'm from the san francisco publiclities commission. the program came about with state wide legislation in 2002 to enable people to take more control over supplies. i first heard of the program when the organization was advocating to launch clean power sf. what i'm most excited about, it's going to bring 100% renewable energy to my home and reinvest into renewable energy infrastructure and jobs. i had gone to a lot of street fairs and heard from the staff at the san francisco public utilities commission to sign up for clean power sf even before it launched. >> we learned about clean power sf because our sustainability team is always looking for clean operations. linkedin is the largest online network. there are about 530 million members using our site. in this san francisco office there's about 1400 employees working in roughly 400,000 square feet. >> after signing up for the program we heard about the san francisco program and learned they had commercial rates and signed up for that. i'm the co-owner of the new wheel

as i've said before, we have a group called the friends of the san francisco public library. here after referred to see the friends. if you go to the san francisco public library website, a city paid for and sponsored website, you will see at the bottom center of the home page a link to this group. i would like to ask the members of this board of supervisors, how many of your constituents, members of the public, are deceived and contributing to this group, not realizing how little of the money actually goes to support the library? i've said it before, i'll say it again. less than 10% of four or five or -- 4 or 5 or $6 million a year. you passed the legislation to approve it. i talked about the three dozen orders of determination i have and how most of those have to do with the public library, the library commission and others trying to keep this scam -- i call it a scam -- from being exposed. i've called it a scam over and over and this institution did nothing more than disappear completely from library commission meetings. this crusade began with the library commission making

our department works closely with san francisco's public authority. it was established in 1995 and serve as the employer of record for consumers. it should be noted that the ihss public authorities providing independent providers as well as consumers. in addition to providing the health and dental benefits to eligible independent providers, the public authority carries out specific state-mandated enrollment activities such as criminal background checks, which are required by law. in support of consumers, the public authority maintains a home care worker registry which ihss consumers can access if they're seeking to hire a new independent provider. although our prior contract was approved to be in effect until june 2020. we're requesting it begin in july of 2019 to align with the recently signed collectivity bargaining agreement. it included waive increases for providers which is commensurate with the minimum compensation ordinance and this resulted in a $3.75 an hour wage increase rolled out over the next three years. this will positively impact all i

this past year, the san francisco public utilities commission water quality division started receivingmany more requests to test for lead in the public school system here in san francisco as a result of legislation that had passed from the state requiring all of the public schools to do lead testing. and so as a result, the public utilities commission and the water quality team in particular was asked to meet with the san francisco unified school district to begin to prioritize which schools to test to meet that state mandate. >> the team that tests, we're a full service environmental laboratory, and we take care of both the needs of the water quality division and the waste water enter price. and on the water quality enterprise, we have to also have drinking water that meets all federal and state quality regulations. and lead in schools, we're playing a problem in remediating this problem of lead in schools. >> our role here in communications is being able to take the data that we have that we know is protective of public health and safety and transmit it, give it to the public in a wa
