what is the san francisco sfmta trying to achieve? we in the community will be burdened if the 3 jackson were eliminated and we would like to know why it's proposed for elimination? what is the mta trying to achieve? the tep documents do not show how the elimination of the three would benefit san francisco. all it has said as part of mta's plan to improve service. certainly those of us who are regular users of the 3 jackson question how eliminating the line will improve service? we thought that the mta would say there would be a significant cost-savings over other possible actions, but we're told by julie kirshbaum that eliminating the 3 would not save money. then what is the nexus between eliminating the 3 jackson and improving service? how does the balance of scales of cost and benefit favor of the elimination of the 3? if those of us who use the 3 were further burdened, we would like to understand the offsetting benefits; which compelled the elimination of the line? we have searched for the answer and not found it. if there is no c

we're asked to look how sfmta delivers its projects and if there is room in improvement and project delivery, and we were asked to compare san francisco investment in bicycle infrastructure and projects with other cities in the u.s.. to start with we looked at the strategic plan and the large goals of sfmta from their strategic plan they have established the goal of decreasing private auto use to 50% of all trips by 2018 -- scenario and that has a price tag of $191 million and if implemented is expected to increase bicycle mode share from the current 3.5% to between eight and 10%. the next slide is just an overview of the bicycle strategic plan scenario. again this is the midpoint -- or the middle of the three plans included in the bicycle strategy and increase bicycle mode share between eight and 10% and these are some of the details of what would be included if this plan was implemented. 50 miles of existing bicycle network is upgraded, 12 miles of new bicycle facilities, 21,000 bicycle parking spaces and so on and as i mentioned the cost associated with it is $191 million. one of the questions that we were asked to answer is what i

i'm here to petition against sfmta recommendation 4 to remove the meter payment exemption for placard cards in the city and county of san francisco for the following reasons: no. 1, san francisco is different from other cities in many ways and in particular due to the high cost of living compared to the other cities that she mentioned. no. 2, the reduction of parking tame to 4 hours should be tried first before charging a fee. the idea of punishing seniors and disabled persons for those who really need this for medical and dental appointments for the few who are abusing the system is incomprehensible and should not be the way to solve a problem. no. 4, the sfmta should implement only a few of these recommendations in increments to evaluate which ones working and why. i don't think you should try to do all of this at one time, you probably should do it in implements and see that it works. i'm a veteran and this will be an unwelcome act to many disabled veterans returning home and visiting this beautiful city. i have attended many meetings with the african american seniors in bayview hunters point in omi listening it complaints abo

there is a san francisco sta, the sfcta the county transportation agency but they don't understand, the distinction between the two. and i think that one of the unfortunate things for the sfmta is that once the county transportation project plans are shifted over, to the sfmta staff, to and the department to implement, and your staff goes out and reaches out to the business community, and they end up getting, i think, some of the wrath of the lack of out reach that the cta has done in those business areas and so there is a great amount of frustration from the businesses because those are heavy and subnative projects that have said, why didn't we know about this a year ago? i could have made plans. you know? i just renewed my lease and maybe i would have moved. so that we need to, we want to work with you to work with the cta and i know that director reiskin has said that he in communication and talking to chang to improve communications. but i think that there is an opportunity for all of us to be working together to do the better out reach and so that the businesses have a greater opportunity to be able to adjust to the larger projects that are coming up because they do, th
