transportation into one livable entity. thank you. >> good afternoon. i am chester from the san francisco county transportation authority. i have been asked to come and get a very quick overview of the work we have been doing on our own to support the implementation of this western soma community plan. the idea here is to take some of the ideas that tom just talked about and pick a few small-scale improvements that we can actually advance to a conceptual design phase and prepare for implementation funding. i have a couple of fact sheets that i would like to distribute. they get a nice overview of this study. so hang on just a moment. i will talk through the fact sheet. what we did in our study was conducted technical analysis, and we solicited community feedback to really identify the greatest needs and the biggest opportunities for doing these small-scale in perth mint. through that process, we focus mainly on the the alleys. the allies have been talked about consistently by the other speakers as a key focus of really wanting to improve that as a way of improving the livability of the area. so we focused on improving th

resolution authorizing the san francisco municipal transportation agency to amend an expenditure contract with cypress security, llc, to add an additional $18.7 million to continue security services for an additional three years. supervisor chu: thank you very much. on this item we also have ms. hoolihan from the mta. >> good morning again. this is a three-year extension of the existing contract we have with cypress security. basically, under our first three years, our total expenditure was $14.3 million. under the extension of the three years, this includes an 88 cent per year cost of living increase. the total rebuy amount of the contract is $32.9 million. this is including additional services, which is video data assistance, which helps us poll video the after hours when there is a crime-sensitive case with sfpd, allows us to that mobile tunnel patrols, additional security staffing at mme. when we initiated this contract, that facility was not fully staffed and occupied. if you have any other questions, i am available to answer them. supervisor chu: why don't we go to the budget analys

san francisco. thank you very much super intendent for being here. nathaniel ford is the director of the transportation authority. prior to joining the municipal authority. he served for the atlantic authority for 5 years. he started as a train conductor in the new york city transit system. let's give it up for director ford. jim dierck is a principle, but not only a principle and an educator. he is someone who designd and developed innovative concepts where there was an incident that involved safety. for the work he was recognized at the national principle of the year. and he is somebody who is on the ground and has worked to empower young people at his school. he took his school from a different circumstances to be one of the highest performs school districts in the state. jim dierck. margaret brodkin is the director of the department for children youth and families. i emphasize that because it is one of the most critical agencies in the city and county. margaret was a former director the colman advocates who is responsible for many of the children and families here in san francisco much he served as director.

transportation security administration for the airport k-9 explosives detection team program. supervisor chu: thank you. we have a member of sfo. >> good morning. gosset with the san francisco airport. the airport is requesting your authority to accept and expend the funds for the operation of the canine explosives detection program in the amount of $600,500. the grant money will be used to partially reimburse the airport operating funds for expenditures associated with operating our canine team, which involves personnel, vehicles, food, and veterinary services for the dogs. this particular grant funding is dependent on federal appropriation announce, as well as a number of other regional airports who choose to participate in the reimbursement. sfo has been fairly aggressive about pursuing these funds. as a result, we're able to access some federal money that was left on the table by other airports at the end of the federal fiscal year. it is before you today. i would be happy to answer any questions, but this is something that we used to reimburse the airports for the costs associated with operating the program. supervisor chu: thank you. for this item, there is not a general fund and back, so there's no budget analyst re
