with that in mind, i would like to show you the three year demo graphic trend at san francisco unified school district. approximately, all three years we have had 53,000 students enrolled in the district. and when you look at the demographics through ethnicity and program lense, we find the decline to state has started to increase more than 2%. the other decreases or increases were less than 2% but that has been a significant increase of more than 2%. we're 9.2% of san francisco students are with the decline to state ethnic backgrounds. an interesting fact is that we have more than 3500 students in san francisco enrolled in charter schools and our pre-k enrollment has increased up to 1,548 students this last year. i'm going to turn it to dr. stevens to present the ela and math data. >> commissioners, what we're looking at is a representation of the scores on s back for a variety of eth nice tease across the district. furthest to the left, the district aggregates has risen to 55% points. you will see for some demographic catagories there's been a small but stayed' increase over the last

our agenda, i'm really excited about this, just this week on wednesday, in partnership with san francisco unified school district, we had a big announcement, win is the first of its kind earthquake curriculum that is being introduced to kids within the school district and their families around seismology, so it's part of the science curriculum and emergency preparedness. one of the stats about this i think is amazing -- this is curriculum that will hopefully be part of the school district for the next 20 years. and that means it will touch over 800,000 san francisco kids and their families, which is a big number. for anyone that has kids, when they are introduced something like this in school and they're instructed to come home and get their parents on board, it is really effective. i've been on the other side of that. i think it's great. we had an excellent day, got to hang out with 7th graders. and it's such a way, talking about connectedness and also from a perspective of equity, going through our public school district and touching every kid in the 7th grade. it's a great, innovative program,

san francisco since 1957. i live in this area for 42 years. my name is shirley jackson, and i am a retirement teacher for san francisco unified school district, and i work with early childhood education and after school programs. i have light upstairs and down stairs. it's been remodelled and i like it. some of my floors upstairs was there from the time i built the place, so they were very horrible and dark. but we've got lighting. the room seems lighter. they painted the place, they cemented my back yard, so i won't be worried about landscaping too much. we have central heating, and i like the new countertops they put in. up to date -- oh, and we have venetian blinds. we never had venetian blinds before, and it's just cozy for me. it meant a lot to me because i didn't drive, and i wanted to be in the area where i can do my shopping, go to work, take the kids to school. i like the way they introduced the move-in. i went to quite a bit of the meetings. they showed us blueprints of the materials that they were going to use in here, and they gave us the opportunity to choose where we would like to stay while they was renovating. it means a lot.

to the school district, more than 2,000 -- there are more than 2,000 homeless students in san francisco unified, and the majority of them are latino, in the face of this crisis, this school right here, buena vista horseman opened its gym nasium to homeless families to spend the night. i'm proud to say that mission promise neighborhood will now be expanding to support this brave school and four other schools, bringing our total to nine schools in the mission altogether. our family success coaches will work closely with on-site providers jamestown, mission graduates, seven teepee, and institutefamily de la raza to connect hamlies with jobs, legal services, health and more. we know that public schools are where we come together to care for each other's children. we are increasing our investment in children aged zero to five by expanding our programs at mission neighborhood centers, support for families, and for the first time ever, family child care providers. we're partnering with meta real estate to keep our families in place. for example through the city's small sites program, meta recently pur

finally, we have the san francisco unified school district and 95% of students reported coping with stress as a result of therapy. looking forward 418-19, we are expanding our transitional youth program for youth 16-24 to add a mobile treatment of service which is a treatment that moves around the city. and also to develop population specific programs about how to improve the underserved, like the asian community, african-american, lgbtq, just to name a few. we have three innovation projects that we are developing. one is around technology and mental health. it is a program that provides psychoeducational lines to help reduce isolation and increase social connectedness. there is a proposition on the ballot. it is a two billion-dollar housing bond that helps develop housing for individuals who are homeless with serious mental illness. this is a state program. the reason why we are keeping an eye on this program because at a state level, we will be paying back the bond. to have an impact on the local revenue over time. lastly, for quality improvements , we commit to an outgoing evaluation of
