this incident happened in san francisco. however the officer involved in this shooting was not with san francisco police. we've learned that the officer involved is a special agent with the irs's criminal investigation unit. a short timing a we spoke with a spokesperson from the irs who explained there are about basically 100 of these special agent investigators here in northern california and they typically investigate financial crimes. things like schemes and fraud. however san francisco police say the agent involved in last night's shooting was offduty. the agent. we don't know at this point if the agent was a male or female but they were walking through the city's bay view district near kirkwood shortly after midnight. according to police that's when two people attempt today rob the agent. the agent fought back and shot at the suspects as they try today flee. >> the officer fired their weapon and one of the suspects shot and the other one fled. >> reporter: now the injured suspect was transported to san francisco general

because san francisco is so young. -- because san francisco is so young, it is riddled by faults. i have a map that shows the faults across the bay area and san francisco. the granddaddy of all of these is the san andreas fault. it is the longest. it can generate the greatest earthquakes. >> it is just south of san francisco. it goes offshore down here. >> from my house to the fault is about 3 miles on average. >> the closest area in san francisco to the fault is this area here in the southwest part of the city. people said that the closer you are, there are conditions that exacerbate issues. >> the fault's effect on development depends on the fault type and soil component. the san andreas is the main fault. there is the hayward fault. the difference between the two is that the san andreas is predominantly offshore. the hayward fault actually crosses beneath populated areas and poses a larger threat. as we speak, there is a 67% probability of a major earthquake on one of these faults in the next 30 years. it is of major -- high probability. it is a magnitude 6.5. the 1906 was 7.9.

of san francisco for the next 30 or 40 years.hat means tens of thousands of jobs and all kinds of infrastructure improvements. if that was not enough from the budget to the hunters point deal, we were also an extraordinarily proud to have had speaker nancy policy out here, senator barbara boxer out here, and countless others celebrate our groundbreaking at the terminal. we will be developing a world- class grand central station on the west coast of the west coast. i call it a grander station. it is a new intermodal facility creating a regional transit hub. 11 transit agencies will feed in from 88 area counties into this world class hub. there will be ground-floor retail. there will be 2600 new units of housing. 30% of them will be available below market. there will be the ability ultimately to connect the high- speed rail from san francisco to l.a. and ultimately down to anaheim and eventually to sacramento. to have the key terminus there at the terminal. the speaker was there. she has been extraordinarily helpful for decades. sh

i own two liquor licenses in san francisco. born and raised here for 57 years and i've got 40 years of bar ownership or management. i came on short notice. i don't have slides, graphs, powerpoint presentations, but i can positively tell you of the five cents of tax issue per beverage that has been brought upon us over the last 40 years, it has never occurred on a federal level or a state level that the five cent per beverage remains after it's been distributed through. so this does positively come anywhere from 25 cents to 50 cents per unit per beverage when this is all multiplied out. on top of all the business tax and everything else as any small business in san francisco, i urge you to vote no on that. one other thing i'd like you to know which has been mentioned, if you go through bars, cafes, pizza parlors, large and small restaurants, retail stores, liquor stores, wine stores, sporting venues and hotels, it's approximately 100 pages of the yellow page correctly. all of these customers will be affected by these tax increas

san francisco is a large city. so if we adjust this for injuries per capita, we still see san francisco is still showing a lot of pedestrian injuries but not as strongly, now we see that san francisco and berkley have maybe close to 2 times as many pedestrian injuries as san jose or richmond. this does again men t mean that francisco is more dangerous place to walk than san jose or richmond. what we need to do is account for the amount of walking, and this is using census data. we don't do a good job in america keeping track of how much walking occurs. census data asks how you get to work on the long form. it turns out to pretty good measure of walking in the community, but as you can see here there's ten times as much walking in berkley or san francisco as maybe san jose or richmond. so, if we adjust the per capita injury rate for the number of walkers, we see a very different view of the injury rate here in san francisco. actually san francisco and berkley now look quite good. the injury risk per person walking i

we have 450 projects throughout san francisco. we have incentivized wisely over the counter permits so people can navigate the bureaucracy, a $98 fee, flat fee. we are developing projects in this city with minimum requirements for lead building standards. in fact we have a proposal that i will be presenting in front of our san francisco board of supervisors that says you want to build a commercial structure in excess of 50,000 square feet, you've got to provide minimum lead standards of construction. the reason we are doing that is we create an incentive a year ago to do that and everybody in order to get ahead of the queue in terms of the planning process is jumping in saying that's a no brainer of us because time matters more than anything else. so we are going to require it as a base line for doing business in the city and county of san francisco. that follows what we had already done and that is say we're going to spend the taxpayers money, we have got to provide those lead standards in terms of our libraries, reconstructing o

in san francisco. we provide housing to people at certain income levels. and the city tasks to make sure that those people continue to meet those income levels. it is a base misstatement of fact that a, that information has not been given to you and b, that somehow it has escaped our minds. second of all, it isn't 50% of the housing that is subsidized in san francisco. folks, it's 100%. the largest housing subsidy in this country is mortgaged tax deduction. 100% of the housing market in this country is subsidized by the federal and state government. so why do you want to point out or hold out affordable housing as being somehow subsidized and not somehow paying its way is absurd. all housing in this counry is subsidized by the government, directly or indirectly. the largest single housing subsidy of the federal government over $2 trillion is the mortgage tax deduction, in addition, anybody who owns rental property knows you get to deduct expenditures for rent from your federal taxes as well. so it's all
