three years ago san franciscoians tweed and butch hayes tried to gather donations from friends and businessesuy toys for older kids, kids from 8 to 16. they call the effort dig deep sf. they year they raised near $60,000. it oofs used to buy ipods, sports jerseys and cameras. all of the merchandise has been handed over to the salvation army distributed to kids that need it, want it and will enjoy it. >> we know that we're making a big dent in it, but i will tell you this and we're really proud of this. we're the largest bay area donors to the salvation army, period. you know what? we're just getting started. >> and digging those santa hats, too. dig deep was able to raise money believe it or not in just two weeks. isn't that wonderful? >> i remember when they started that program. i know one of the guys, and it was a total local grassroots effort and look how big it's become. it's great. >> check of the forecast now. >> we're looking clear out here, and we're going to be talking about some sierra snow coming up, you guys. live look at san francisco christmas in the park. we let you know who o
