the next generation of san franciscoians, they're depending on us to be grown-ups, to make the right have to make our transportation system better. we have to improve our parks. we have to make sure that we continue to lead the way on climate change and repair our seawall. we have to do all of these things. we have to support our small businesses. we have to keep our communities safe. we have to continue to move san francisco forward, but doing everything that we can not to leave one san franciscoian behind. growing up in poverty in this city you look at things through a different lens. you look at things and you see the challenges and you think what you see is normal. well, it's time to change what is normal in san francisco. it is time to change what has happened in the past so that we can move our city together forward. and i know that there are so many people in this city, people who feel that they don't matter. people who feel that nobody is listening. people who feel neglected. people who feel unheard and don't feel represented in this city. and i want them to know that i see t

a workforce that actually reflects the values of san franciscoians unionizing. and to go to commissioner singh's comment also how it's affecting the labor force of public transportation. so our drivers, those -- that we had actually a stable workforce here before these emerging technologies came in. so i think that it is a partnership about -- also talking about the scooters and about all of these emerging mobilities and how it's really affected the labor force that it has displaced in a way. with maybe to back up with some data. is that making it clear, commissioner ronen, that we can tackle the next issue about? >> supervisor ronen: i think that you articulated that perfectly and the only thing that i would add is that in the overall analysis if you could start to take a look at possible solutions to the impact on that workforce, that would be fantastic. >> i have been reading, for example, that uber in new york city was required to pay a hardship fee to taxi drivers in that city. so one of the things that we'll do is examine best practices in other cities. be

we see the departments unable to keep san franciscoians safe from sexual violence. in fact, we have yet another very appalling example of a city employee disregarding date and acquaintance rape as less egregious than stranger rape. just a couple days ago in a san francisco "chronicle" article a city employee said these assaults were not date rapes. these were not acquaintance rapes, he said. these assaults were violent rapes committed by a serial rapist and a predator who is not going to stop until he was caught. how can anyone say that getting raped by someone you know is less violent just by the nature of it? this is wrong and should never happen again. this is the culture that minimizes sexual assaults and sexual harassment and the type of culture that leads to disregarding hundreds of women who deserve justice. let's not forget that seven out of 10 rapes are committed by someone known to the victim. disregarding these types of rapes endangers the vast majority of women who are raped. this is precisely why i am creating "sharp," the office of sexual harassment an
