nearly 3 for orinda, more than 3 for san rafael. saint helenaanta rosa coming up on half a foot. vacaville and napa more than 2" of rainfall. river flooding joe mentioned this before, we'll see minor flooding at the russian river at guerneville cresting about 2.25 feet above flood stage and also as we said but it's worth saying again, there is a blizzard warning in effect for the western slopes of the sierra. we are talking up to 3 feet of additional snowfall above 7,000 feet. what's going on? there's a strong storm that develops just off to our west. that drew up the wind that gave us a front with that strong wind and also heavy rainfall but then what's happened is that storm is moving parallel to the front. so as it pulls away, it is not pulling the front with it. if anything, it's kind of intensifying that band of moisture and notice, this is a six-hour loop here. it's not moving and i don't see anything off to the west for the next several hours that will give it a good push to get it out of here so we are stuck with this additional rainfall

san ramon to concord and pleasant hill. it will be below freezing for you in and around the napa valley. saint helena. n francisco down to 42 degrees. we haven't seen any rainfall the past couple of days. we a little bit on christmas eve but that's it for the past week. there are storms out there. there are plenty of storms like in early december but mother nature put up a wall, a ridge of high pressure. it's blocking the rainfall, it's being shoved up to the north, but up and over this ridge our air is coming down from canada. a lot of you said, really, canada, california? how does that happen. our air is coming from the arctic. it's modified by the it makes it here but it makes it chilly and it will continue. if anything, next week we get an extra shove a ridge off to our west, but also a building area of low pressure off to our east. caught right in between a stronger push of air coming down from canada. so temperatures will be falling to the low to mid-50s for highs and for many of you away from the water overnight lows will be in the upper 20s coming up next week. for tonight and tomorrow, chilly.
