the fog is in the sacramento and san joaquin valleys. if you are headed out looking for fireworks, temperatures around midnight about be around 40, 45 san francisco. and upper 40s. it promises to be a cool start to the new year but a nice one. afternoon highs ranging from 60 in campbell, 66, 65 can't clara. upper 50s at the coast. plenty of sun. 65 palo alto, downtown coming in about 3 degrees warmer than yesterday but what a difference. we had all those clouds. today 61 in san francisco and calistoga 64. near east bay,ite afternoon, low 40s here in fremont. and eventually the winds coming in from the east, we will maybe have to deal with some fog tonight. 64 danville, 65 pleasanton, and once again, the moonlet ray bay upper 60s, maybe a 70 in salinas. so the forecast called for sunny, mild weather to begin the new year and takes us right through monday, tuesday, wednesday, and that was our chance of rain on thursday, and with each model run that we get, it looks less and less likely. >> we keep having these chances out there but they are

pretty sure we are going to see a lot of sunshine and the fog dense in the central valley, the san joaquin valleylos angeles and back home we are looking at numbers in the low 60s, where they should be for this time of year, 62 campbell and cooler at the coast, 58 pacifica, milbrae lots of sunshine. downtown 58 degrees and in the north bay we're are looking at numbers a little cooler. we saw low 60s yesterday. today 59 in novato. 58 in berkeley. and out in our inland valleys it's a cold start. that fog should lift and then we will see mid-50s there. monterey, 65. still the most mild weather here but remember spare the air and a little breezy and then monday, tuesday, winter begins on wednesday. and there's our dry seven days. >> yeah. well, i have to give you promises because you went out on a limb a couple of weeks ago and said you thought it was going to be dry through the holiday. >> interesting. yeah, work week ends you get to look at that. it's something people remember. >> i do. >> it worked for me this time, though. >> thank you, lisa. let's check out sports and see what worked for the war
