and those photos you showed us from those animal advocates are really hard to se. marianne, you were able to talk to the acting deputy director of san jose animal care and services. what are they telling you? well, she said, look, we agree with the audit and we look forward to implementing the changes that the audit suggests. she said absolutely. we are overcrowded. in fact, even today, they're overcrowded by several dozen animals. but she said, look, we're a no kill shelter and we are accepting all animals that are brought into us. we're not turning anyone away. so because of that, yes, sometimes they do have to double up. they don't have the facilities to accept all, i mean to care for all of these animals. but they're just making do with what they have. as far as the spay and neuter clinic is concerned, she said, look, we have so many animals. we're at overcapacity. so our focus is just making sure that these animals are cared for, and we have to make that our number one priority. and because of that, our team has not been able to bring back the spay and neuter clinic and the third thing, as far as bringing making more inroads with the foster care places, they
